I find the rhythm of talking. Difficult to listen to. He keeps stopping. And then starting. In mid sentence. It feels like the audio. Has paused. For a second. Before starting again. I almost find my self on edge waiting for the next break. In the sentence. And becoming distracted. From what's being said.

2025 We wear glasses daily and keeping them clean is constant struggle, especially in poor weather. A review of compact glasses cases/holders especially with a discreet cleaning solution/cloth would be wonderful and helpful when needing to clean the rain or fog from my spectacles. Something to carry in my small EDC pouch or sling would prove to be more accessible , thus useful. Petromax! In late sixties my friend's (parent's) summer cottage had no electricity, and we used a Tilley power lantern there in the winter. Love those memories, so when I noticed that Petromax has risen from the ashes and is making these lamps again I just had to get one. Mostly it is just sitting on display in my mancave, but also occasionally used at our scout cabin next Russian border still, and forever, without electricity. Not all that much real convenience, but loads of nostalgia which fake LED lanterns simply can not supply. About outdoor use only: Of course they have to say "outdoor use only" for safety and liability reasons, but they do sell the shade also which very efficiently directs the light downwards and is clearly meant to be used indoors (or for night spear fishing). In the past when these were really used in need of light they were mostly used indoors and nobody was much worried about them burning houses down. Sometimes they would flare a bit, but pumping more pressure would take care of that. Or a sheet of copper nailed to the ceiling above the lamp.
@RHC78Ай бұрын

You're my preferred EDC expert because you typically focus more on urban EDC over outdoor survival gear. My favorite segments on your channel are when you introduce me to technologies and best-in-class brands I've not seen elsewhere (e.g. self-amalgamating tape, Dyneema thread, Graphene-X's GRAnaREC II jacket). This is what I hope you'll include in 2025. 1. Smart phone apps with wide appeal. A smart phone is more versatile even than a multi-tool, yet you rarely mention apps. As you have extolled the virtues of your favorite multi-tool features, share your favorite "get me out of trouble" apps (e.g. police scanner, radio, TV, weather, messaging, note taking, maps, first aid, translators, knot tying, measuring, currency conversion, unit conversion, Bible, etc.) 2. My EDC extends beyond what's on my person, to what's always in my vehicle. Show me kit that's always in your vehicle. For example, as a football (i.e. soccer) dad, that includes a compact chair I can even fit in carryon luggage when it's not in the boot of my MINI Cooper. While you can find smaller backpacking chairs, if you don't mind sitting in a bucket, I prefer Front Runner's Expander director's chair. Other examples might include: phone clip, air pump, compact jumper cables, cigarette lighter USB adapter, etc. 3. Fewer Fidget Tools 4. The occasional compact Bible (e.g. Cambridge University Press Pocket Bible; approximately the size of an A6 pocket notebook, it's the Leatherman Squirt of Bibles). I'll admit this might not make it into every man's EDC. Still, as the most published book ever and something MANY carry at least in app form, it's not exactly a niche market either. It's an infinitely more powerful stress reliever than any fidget tool and usually much cheaper. 5. Fewer premium pens 6. Fewer knives that aren't multi-tools

I appreciate this comprehensive review. While many of the products assessed are not part of my regular workflow, I would like to offer feedback on the Bellroy Transit Work Bag. It is an exceptional bag; the design is aesthetically pleasing, the back panel is breathable and comfortable, and the padded straps provide excellent support. The quick-access side pocket is a particularly clever feature. The clamshell opening of the main compartment is spacious enough for a two-to-three-day trip. My only reservation is the placement of the water bottle holder on the left side, which is inconvenient given my preference to carry the bag on my right shoulder.

Jon, you've had the privilege to enjoy and review so many EDC items over the years. What I'd like to see is a kind of retrospect. A) What are your longest carried EDC items in each category, B) What items did you like but end up replaced with something you preferred more, aside from simple version upgrades of the same model, and C) What were the duds... the ones that you liked at first, but then found in time they didn't measure up (either design flaws emerged, or materials didn't hold up)?

The Petromax Lantern is a beautiful, functional, and expensive product. for something a bit more reasonable price wise, although not as aesthetically pleasing (to some) you can get the Coleman dual fuel lantern. The Coleman has 2 mantles to petromax's single. The Coleman runs on both Kerosene or unleaded gasoline. While the Petromax runs between 8-10 hours, The Coleman runs up to 5.25 hours on high or 13.5 hours on low. The Coleman is seemingly more efficient as the run time is based on a 1.25 pint fuel capacity while the petromax has a 1 quart capacity. While significantly less bright, I really like the Feuerhand hurricane lamp. only 3.5 candlepower, but will run for 20 hours on 10.5 ounces of fuel. For an electric option, I really like the OLIGHT Olantern Stretch and OLIGHT Olantern Classic 2 Pro. they both have a warm light setting to replicate the orange glow of a flame or a bright white function. maximum brightness is up to 500 lumens or 300 lumens dimmable respectively. they have a 250 hour and 180 hour maximum run time and allow to be charged by USB-c and can charge other devices. they are both IPX5 water resistant.

When I pass from this earthly realm and my wife finds all my gear, gadgets, flashlights, multi-tools, etc. she will undoubtably wonder how we managed to live a comfortable life in spite of my addiction to cool stuff. Hi. I Like very much the format, and videos between, to see the products in detail. Always in a good warm light, and you shift that, so we can see in more depth, the real product. Some things are getting a bit to far, for the costly side. Although for example, that DJI drone is not that expensive, and is an awesome innovation. New EDC things and products. Are always good to see. New materials too. And you don't resume only about that. You show other products that are interesting, to the EDC world. I would say, keep up.... Just don't start to only show options that cost too much. There are for sure, more affordable items out there. Although I appreciate your personal reference and day to day experience with them. A lot of reviewers cannot show that, as good as you. Keep up. 👍

Any idea if that flying camera (won't say the d word here) is legal in the US?
@JonGadgetАй бұрын
I think so - but check local laws - always need to be mindful of location ie. privacy, people, dangers, restricted areas etc.

One thing I've never seen you review are small refillable bottles (for sunscreen etc)

Appreciate the video! Unfortunately I have to disagree with you about the InCharge cable, I bought the new version about 1 year ago and the lightning is basically unusable, because it doesn’t snap firmly, it’s unstable, so I still need to carry other cables… That’s my experience

Hi there. I'm not positive but I don't think you are supposed to handle the mantle/light gauze on the lantern.

not sure when unused - you might be right though - however once first lit it goes hard and you def can't mess with it then.

Curious about the glasses you're wearing in this video. What kind are they and what brand if I may ask? Thanks.
