Well done, Ross, for sticking up for us! And a big well done for outing this abuser. There are so many tell tail signs on those messages as to who this is. The 'mannerisms' the bits of language, and length of sentences, even the name used. These will all mean something to somebody watching this. Anybody, who writes anything, have a style which relates to the way they talk. Thank you so much for bringing this up and having the courage to talk about it, and your disability on line. People are a strange breed, my friend, and truth will out. Take care and keep growing on your lovely allotment.

That’s horrible. Well done for addressing it, but it really says something that you had to in the first place. The malicious tips bit made my blood run cold. I don’t currently get pip, I applied once but the process was so harrowing that I didn’t appeal. My disabilities are more “hidden” - I’m diagnosed adhd, I get migraines, and there’s some suspected spectrum stuff going on. They came back with 0 points. I could imagine someone with a less obvious disability being called in then having support withdrawn if they get the wrong assessor. Deeply troubling.

Sad, isn't it. Stick at it and re-apply. It's your money. The government make it hard so people don't t bother, don't let the f**kers win. Speak to Scope or Citizens advice & get help with the application process. 👍

Hi, Ross. I have multiple health issues that leave me disabled but invisibly so. You described my day so well. I haven't been in my career for many years as I am a completely unreliable emoloyee. I then tried a little self-employment but cannot even do that, now. I don't know how I will be from hour to hour and when having a 'good day' (which we all know is a bad day for a normal, healthy person!), I fear that being seen doing anything physical, such as allotment work, will be reported to the powers that be, even though they have no idea that, that day at the allotment will almost always mean I can only move from the bes to the bathroom and back again for several days or even weeks, sometimes. I have other plot holders going past while I'm trying to dig out a weed ball. We give each other a cheerio and smile and they see a young-looking (so I'm told), healthy forty-something woman looking completely able. They have no idea that I'm in agony, rattling with medications that bring their own issues, and that I'm close to vomiting and passing out with fatigue. Sorry for the rant but this feels a safe space and must have been needed! I hope things are better for you. I'm sure 'Janet' is just another old, bigoted, white guy set in their ways. I know they're not all the same but my god, they run the world and need to get with the times.

Thank you Ross! It is absolutely brilliant that you can find the strength and courage to make a public stand. We need many more like you. A lot of disabled people cant find the strength or energy to stand up to the world's 'Janet's'. From personal experience, I've had very similar in the past, and it can take it out of you to stand up to the Janet's. You have a great family around you, you are living your best life, you are only disabled by societies abelism. We need to unite and challenge abelism wherever we find it. As always, if we can be of any assistance, even if it's just lending you one of my deaf ears to listen, we are only a message away! If the allotments get overwhelming for you and you fall behind, I have the opposite to green fingers, but my better half knows what she ia doing and will glady help! Please don't be afraid to ask.
