You can set automations to all tracks. Depends on which fader you moved. Global should appear as automation in arrangement view. If you tried to automate the clip volume only it will appear in clip editing window

Mind blown completely. I sometimes feel like I should go through all the basics for like 2 months straight before attempting anything else. Ableton never ceases to surprise me.

Believe or not but after using Live for 6+ years I also discover a few things here and there at least once a month 😂. The version I used here is 12 beta and honestly I barely scratched the surface of things they added

@locksh I feel exactly the same way haha, I already wasted my free 2 months by doing this haha, but I rather learn these tricks first before I get serious

I recently started using live again after working with Bitwig for the last years. and while a love the design of Ableton as well as the stock plugins, the arranger and the audio and midi-editing always seemed much less intuitive to me than the way Bitwig handles things. Your tips are absolute gold to get up to speed in live. Good luck with your channel!
@huntingghosts9 ай бұрын
By the way man, I nearly missed your videos because of the clickbaity titles and screenshots. I know its hard to find the favor of the almighty algorithm-god but maybe the sweet spot is a bit toned down. Anyway, godspeed to you

I feel like I might need to look up Bitwig and see what’s so cool about it. I always felt like it’s a twin brother of Live. Thanks man 🙏
@huntingghosts9 ай бұрын
@@Zdrewe A lot of things make much more intuitive sense in Bitwig, to me switching some years ago was really a breath of fresh air, and the modulation options and the grid are insane. But I still find it easier to create good and professional sounding music fast in Ableton. And the color theme of Bitwig is still unattractive to my eyes.

Great tutorial pal, if you want to record automations you can also disarm the track recording

Thanks! That’s actually a good one but funny thing is that you can easily disarm track recoding but auto arm selected tracks needs a script (or Push) 😂

Really great video brother, But FL's automation clips aren't ugly as you think, it's so freakin powerful than the ableton's one. U can get so many control over the curves values and also it has a tons of features. I use Ableton Live, Reaper, Cubase & FL Studio but I really like the FL for automation, you can warp the shape from audio, link multiple parameters to same automation clips, you can invert it too. Also there's a lot of articulation tools for manipulating automation. And where have you been in these days?
@Zdrewe Жыл бұрын
Hahaha honestly bro, it’s just my “inside joke”. I started my production journey with Fruity Loops 7 and been a heavy FL user till 2013. I just don’t like the way how automation clips look in FL 😂. Truth is that you can do pretty much the same in every single DAW, it’s just more or less hidden and accessible. I was posting 3 times a week on IG Reels since my last video here dropped but I decided to finally focus on KZbin in 2024 and beyond 😉

in FL studio you can select the type of automation you want instead of drawing it (like a wave shape), can you do that in ableton? and also how do you link different MIDI patterns say a chord and bass to use the same automation clip?
@Zdrewe8 ай бұрын
As I showed in the video, once you right click you can also add predefined curves (shapes). To answer the 2nd question - you don’t need to link anything. Simply copy and paste automation from chords to bass, even for different parameters and effects (I think i also showed this in the video)

Nice tutorial. Look up how UI / UX works, maybe you'll realize why Ableton's UX is trash, which ultimately makes using Ableton's automation a pain to use. (I use Ableton primarily also. Don't care how long you've used FL studio.)
@Zdrewe Жыл бұрын
I’m not qualified enough to dig into UI things but after working in FL, Cubase, Studio One and finally Live I find our DAW the most flexible and fun to use when it comes to automation. Me referring to “ugly automation clips” is actually pure stylistic and workflow choice. Pretty sure there are some hacks and tricks to make it prettier as well as some other DAWs that work more efficiently to someone.
