Ableton Live - Mapping a MIDI Controller to a feature

I'm mapping a note on a MIDI keyboard to a feature in Ableton Live, in this case I'm mapping a note to the Scene Launch feature.

Excellent, thanks brother. Was more trying to figure out if the select next scene worked with a midi mapping, as it doesn't function like that if you click the scene with the mouse, only if you press enter. Got lucky that you happened to show just that, I appreciate the quick concise info.

can you assign a midi controller button to each scene. or is it only a master scene launch option?

@@eross21You can assign a specific scene to a key on your MIDI keyboard or your computer keyboard. You can also map it to a specific clip slot.

So all you need to do in mapping is select a clip and press a key or button on your controller?

Thanks for your question. If you want to launch at particular clip or scene via midi, ENTER MIDI MAPPING MODE FIRST, then select the clip slot, then play a key, press a button, press a pedal, or other connected MIDI device. Finally, exit MIDI mapping mode. Hint: if this isn’t working, check in Preferences>MIDI to make sure the MIDI device is checked as a controller. I hope this clarifies the video a little.
