Great tutorial! my snares sound a lot better now! Also I have a question, does someone at dubspot now how to create hardstyle? I mean there are a lot of tutorials about it on youtube but its all just not professional and just doesn't sound like anything at all.. And I'm not that advanced yet to know how to program synths and drum machines to make the sound I have in my mind.. If not, its not a problem I also like to make dubstep.. Thanks in advance

well that saturator at the end was pretty effective!! in logic the saturation of ultrabeat is complete crap and there is no seperate effect that i know of. is there an au-plugin with a similar effect to this saturator? that'd be quite nice!

One question though, quite irrelevant to this video but I require the information nonetheless: If you download Live 8 will you still be able to use the old saves you have on Live 7 and will you have to download the entire thing again or is it just an update?

What's the point in setting the release for the filter and reverb tail longer than the release on the gate?

wouldn't it have been better to place the saturator before the reverb? The saturator would be buzzing/ringing the reverberated sound right?

you started the video with the kick already loaded. Where they stacked or how did you set those up???

Hey DubSpot, I have a question, whenever I try making a melody I don't hear the sounds untill I play the song, is there anyway fix this? Thanks.

You shouldn't have problems going from 7 to 8. It was smooth for me.

It's a nice tut, but people on youtube need to learn about sends when using reverb geee! :P

I really think ableton is incredibly awesome, with all its possibilities, but where is the time music like this was made with a real drum kit, without all those effects^^ sometimes I miss that

what do you have against effects?
@Alxbeginner12 жыл бұрын
Saturation is basicly distortion, google: "distortion vst plugin" then you'll probably find something :D

I thought that I've heard not to add a reverb directly to a dry snare signal?

Theres no reverb on the voice? Theres a release of the snare-noise...
@MIloMercury012 жыл бұрын
check your liscensing online at ableton.com. you might have to repair your software instruments. if your still stuck check out some forums on the topic.

Wouldn't it be better to just add a reverb?
@joshisrad13 жыл бұрын
dry snare from the beginning sounds way better than after all his processing at the end. I've seen multiple vids from this company and my conclusion is dubspot = no good

Is it just me, or does this guy's voice sound like the guy from the "Mayhem like me" commercial series for All State?
@TehJizzCakes13 жыл бұрын
@joshisrad Then you make a tutorial, sprout. DubSpot is good, and the guy that made this tutorial is great. He's not showing you this so you can copy his exact snares. He goes in depth and shows what each of the settings does so that we can fine tune, and such and get a good snare sound that WE like. Damn, you kids are thick.

@TehJizzCakes That you demean the age you perceive of me twice in your post betrays your own insecurity with your teenage immaturity and lack of experience and know-how. "Then why don't YOU do it" is one of the most trite rebuttals used in a debate and is fairly commonly heard from young bucks. I'm not going to give you my sound design tips. You can keep using shit tutorials. But don't get all butthurt over my contempt for Dubspot. You've never listened to a track with this snare in it.
