Cool break down of the performance! Also interesting that this was all done on one ‘track’.
@Taetro3 ай бұрын
True! Shows that “4 tracks only” is not as limited as it seems. I think there’s sounds coming from at least one other track though. Maybe the bass?
@SURCOlive3 ай бұрын
@@Taetro If you are doing only sample based workflow it could be up to 64 tracks of audio. I'm using mine with a drum kit for drums, another for melodic one shots and percussion, and then two polyphonic synths. Crazy powerful. THanks again.

I’ll be experimenting with this type of thing soon! Cheers!!

Although it's not intended to be a performance tool in the first place, it can be used as such indeed. I got mine yesterday and I'm having a blast with it! Both as a standalone and as a Live controller. I was thinking about buying Push for a while, but with Move, I'm going to postpone that until I squeeze this thing as much as possible, it is so much fun
@Easy_Company3 ай бұрын
What does "performance " mean in that sense ? It seems like an instrument capable of producing intricate electro-style sounds. With enough practice, like any instrument, you could play it live for an audience. Just like a guitar player can perform live by playing just chords and singing, or go further and play percussion with his palm and also add arpeggios, give him a loop pedal and you cover pretty much 90% of guitar gigs played in pubs in big cities. I don't see this being very different with the right amount of practice you could probably entertain an audience for 2-3 hours
@antunelez72503 ай бұрын
@@Easy_Company That’s all true and I agree with that, but just because the core features are not intended for live performance. Like for example, if you try switching between sets it switches abruptly, without sync. I’m not live performer though, but yeah, you can definitely perform live, why not. But it’s meant to be like a sketch pad

Loving this Move deconstruction! Really interesting and giving you a good idea what the developers had in mind.

Interesting stuff. I'd like to know how well it works as an Ableton controller. Also if there's tech built in for battery saving when used as a controller, I'd hate to kill the battery by using it as a controller for extended periods of time.

Great explanation. What I wonder is whether you can multi track external synths via MIDI. The manual explains that you get MIDI out for the currently playing track only. So I guess you may not be able to play and run another midi loop to an external synth at the same time.

What a great video thank you for doing that because the original video looked like magic until now! I hope I can get to that level of mastery to perform this way with it too. So dope!

Cool! Explain about drum sequencer. I’ve been thinking to get a Foland Tr6S but maybe this would be a best option since has sounds already. I’m looking for something simple for drums to complement my looping show ( I use loopy pro for guitar and vox on iPad)

While I haven't any immediate plans to get the "move," watching this video was interesting and value-added. I'd give the episode two thumbs up if it were an option.

Is the sample pitching done through warping (timestretching) or just repitched through playing faster?

Great explanation (as always)! 😀 How good is Move as the center of a tiny 'dawless setup' with just an external synth, a midi keyboard, headphones and nothing else? Is it possible to play whats recorded on the Move and at the same time audition the external synth via audio in?

Impressive work! I am still hesitant about the Move. I have to be able to record audio (vocals, guitar) It’s not clear whether I can record these as samples while a drum beat is playing on another track, or while a metronome is on…

Ableton is the devices for little rich kids, just like Apple. You have better instruments from named companies like Native Intruments, KORG, etc. for 1/4 the price!

I wouldn't classify a sub $500 standalone music making device as "for little rich kids"
@thesecret111Ай бұрын
@@Taetro For its capabilites it's a "little rich kid" device. I belive Kontrol from Native Instruments do the same and it costs around 200$. Ableton Push standalone costs 1800$ with no discount on Black Friday. Ableton Push ~no standalone~ costs 999$ and to updgrade it more $999. If you do a little search you can buy plenty of brand new high tech for 1800$.
