You can also play each pad as a transposable sampler. The 16 pads to the right of the 16 sample pads when you’re on a sample, that whole section becomes a melodic instrument.

Really appreciate your thoughtful approach to this instead of making an instant judgment. Not enough of that IMO. And the chopping demo opened my eyes to a different approach so thanks for that. Looking forward to your next look at the Move.

Yessirrrr! Dope! I have mine for 4 days now and I’m lovin’ it. Workflow is fast and straightforward and there are some dope features like the 16pitch, per pad manipulation, lazy chop multiple tracks merged into a pad. I hope I’m still enthusiastic after 2+ months tho 😂

other comments have said the endpoint is not hold but press shift when editing samples, and to the right of the “hold” knob is a “length” knob. THAT is your end point. Not hold. Because hold is time dependent , but length is not. So if you use hold to truncate a sample, you’ll hear past it, if you play @ a higher pitch (16 pitch).

I never thought of chopping samples by adjusting the start point! It's also fun not only to use a parameter lock style but to automate the start point knob while playing and capture it 🎛
@basedvato3 ай бұрын
thats old school method... make a bunch of copies of a sample and put them on the pads, and change start points.
@alter8083 ай бұрын

I keep seeing a lot of videos of people saying there’s no end point control and you have to use hold - if you hit shift + decay knob it allows you to set the length of the sample! Awesome video keen to see more 🎉🎉🎉
@earganic3 ай бұрын
Yup. That button should be accessible without needing to press Shift. Its current placement with Shift isn’t even occupied on the primary action layer, not sure why they decided to bury it.
@Pikalew3 ай бұрын
@@earganic it’s weird right? I feel like it should be either shift on the same knob as start point or have it’s own function on the next knob over…hopefully a firmware update can fix it!
@Blogspierre3 ай бұрын
@@earganicit actually makes sense this way: 1) roughly adjust start points. 2) shift hold 3) fine tune start points and adjust length marker. This way there’s less back and forth. Also worth mentioning that using “hold” to determine the end point falls down, when in “16 level pitch”. Only the “length” option works 100%.

Can you edit all the clips like in the daw and can assign fx to each one. I also have an MPCone question. I have to pads going off at the same time do you know how to fix that?
@mpchead3 ай бұрын
I don't think it is as deep as the software. You can't assign fx per clip but im not sure on that. With the mpc you might have simultaneous play on the pad, that is in program edit first page.
@8trackcreations4702 ай бұрын
@mpchead no I don't have the pads triggering each other. I was making a beat one day then it just started happening. Pad 13 and 14 sometimes then when I hit 14 it triggers 16

@UnpopularOpinion423 ай бұрын
@@mpchead this is the only video I have watched of the Ableton Move. So I can’t really give a good comparison. P6 is much smaller and while it does the per step parameters like the Move, all sound slots are shared across patterns. So if you delete/replace a sound, you may be also changing the a sound used on another pattern. For the money, P6 is VERY good! Has nice effects, can resample and good for lofi.
