In this Ableton Tutorial I take on the challenge of making a 90s rave banger in one single instance of Ableton's Sampler, possibly like they may have done in the 90s, but I can't be sure. Support me on Patreon to download this set plus many many more.

Incredibly fun video, thank you for it! Your videos inspired me to create a whole track using a single track with a drum loop on it and automation a bunch of effects. Btw, you can adjust velocity of selected notes by pressing the number keys.

Discovered your channel this morning and subbed in an instant. Really inspiring stuff. An idea: I'd love to see you make a track from start to finish but without previewing any audio, not even once, before the final reveal. I think you could pull it off well :)

Great way to not get overwhelmed with options. A lot of early rave stuff would have been made on OctaMED etc., Amiga trackers. 8-bit samples and also the anti-aliasing filter would be switched off for a fizzy high end.

Just read on Wikipedia that Renegade Snares was made with OctaMED, sounds so good.

Also it's interesting that it's hard to replicate the sound of S900 / 950 today because pitching was done by varying the clock of each DAC channel so there would be no need for interpolation.
