Paul O'Reilly the original screenplay, and concept was incredibly darker. There's nothing wrong with Bob besides being lonely and not having a family. Lots of the scenes make better sense knowing how this was conceived. He's tried before, and is trying again to simply ingratiate himself into someone elses' life and this time he gets so far he ends up winning. When he sees Marvins' family picture by telling him the names he's got an 'in' opportunity. He's faking having problems because he knows he is charming and friendly. He's a calculating non violent stalker. So when you see Marvin assaulting Bob when he's with his sister, attempting murder, and ending up catatonic it makes more sense. He 'knows' good morning America are coming and engineers a situation whereby he'll be able to give himself publicity. When Marvin says 'I've worked very hard to be here now MAKE UP some excuse!' Bob reacts the same way as in the original script, he's knows exactly how to make up an excuse but refuses to then takes over the show. Brilliant film inspired by a much darker script

@@patriceaqa288 Thank you! a very good commentary of this fantasticly funny movie, with the actors all perfect in their roles . I'm glad they went with this script you couldn't improve on perfection as we see it in "What about Bob" I stil use the line "Son of a bitch and Bob !"when i'm by myself, and with my sons ,who grew up with me watching this movie frequently. kzbin.info/www/bejne/poeme2qJYtSFq7M&ab_channel=BigP602 kzbin.info/www/bejne/gHqUhH-npph1h9E&ab_channel=MovieBombshell two of my favourrite scenes "the diving scene"is Bob at his most Humble and simple caring best

@@PaulOReilly712 I adore this movie aswell. It's interesting though to re watch it and look at Bill Murray's character as exceptionally calculating in what he's doing. He knows what's happening every step of the way. It might ruin it for some, but they couldn't completely change the concept so many scenes had to remain. For instance in the amazing scene 'cuckadooldedoo!!!' when Murray won't wake up UNTIL his alarm bell sounds, he's timing it for good morning America's arrival. 'Good morning America's here!!!!' That's why psychiatrists hated him.

Great scene from a great film. Bill Murray and Richard Dreyfus are comedy gold!
@gregholman2431
@gregholman2431 Жыл бұрын
I, for one, think that Dreyfus's acting performance throughout the whole movie makes it really work and makes it all the more funny, really, because it is the polar opposite of that of Bill Murray's (and his character's) throughout the whole movie. It makes the movie work even greater, all-in-all, really.
