Archie’s feelings definitely hit him a lot harder than he expected. Betty does love Jughead but it’s also clear that she still has feelings for Archie and she decided to shove them back down because she didn’t want to lose or hurt Jughead or Veronica. I’m curious as to how this is all going to come out because I don’t see it coming from either Archie or Betty which means they both feel the need to hide it which says something. I’ve seen enough teen dramas to know that until they actually deal with and confront their feelings for each other and full on explore what they could be it’s not over, and the longer that it’s not over makes it a higher possibility of an end game. The million dollar question is whether or not they try to explore this when they go off to college soon after their relationships implode or will it happen after the time jump? All I know is if I was a Bughead or Varchie stan and wanted them to be end game, I’d want Barchie to happen sooner rather than later to get it out of the way.

This shit is extremely similar to the Brooke/Peyton/Lucas stoyline to one tree hill and I believe they're trying to set up this epic romance and I personally don't ship barchie but I see where they're going with it. Now I believe it will probably happen after the time jump and I actually think that both bughead and varchie will break up just before they go to college (probably because they'll learn about the kiss) so the writers can be like see what happened after all this time. Riverdale is trying too hard to be oth and I think it's showing (I mean the main core is different but you have to admit there are a lot of similar elements). So if barchie happens after the time jump I believe they're gonna try vughead as well or at least make them more close friends and pair them with someone else. I like Veronica with Reggie but I believe he deserves better or that Ronnie needs someone like Jug to actually clear her mind out of all of the manipulation of Hiram (and lowkey I believe that Hiram will die before the time jump so we can see how she is after that and they're probably going for the Brooke Davis arc I think)

If we look at this in a bigger perspective it is easy to see Betty made the easy choice. She did not want to hurt anyone which is why she choose Jughead so everything could stay the same (Even though we know it´s not and Veronica and Jughead are gonna find out in season 5). Remember Betty never said: “I don´t have real feelings for you”. Just like after their kiss in 2x09 it is other people who are telling them how they feel/should feel.

Cheryl was so right. Betty found Jughead in this town of nightmares which we call Riverdale. Betty stopped it and shut it down because she loves Jughead but I really don't think Archie gives a crap about Veronica. He didn't even seem bothered about her. Bughead is endgame, for sure. not at all, the question here is that cheryl does not know betty so well to affirm that she is in love with the idea of archie, since they are not friends. If instead of Cheryl, Kevin had been there, if he knew Betty even before the events of Season 1, he could gain more credibility about Betty's feelings. In addition, you can clearly see how Betty chooses to go the easy way, chooses Judhead not to hurt him and tries to suppress her feelings for Archie by burning her diaries (except one), that means that Betty did not automatically eliminate her feelings for Archie and in Some point will want to be with him despite not wanting to hurt Judhead. So the logic tells us that Barchie is not done yet. let's wait for season 5.

All netflix shows have a short lifespan because making new shows is a cheaper than continuing 3+ seasons show. CW shows, if social engagement is prominent, will survive as long as the actors want in. They all sign a 7 years contract for a reason. Renewal is never guaranteed but with shows like riverdale, it might as well be. Katy Kane died because it had no social media presence. The show created no hype, good or bad. So whatever talk of bughead being the "money making ship", it doesn't mean a thing because even if their shippers are angry, they will keep talking about it. Like when shippers thought they helped their case by rating down the musical episode on IMBD because of barchie, guess what? the plan is gonna backfire because what matters is how many people watched the episode and especially how many people cared enough to rate it. Same goes for IG comments and youtube views. Barchie pics get 1+ million likes and thousands of comments. You're only telling them they're going in the right direction because the goal is to keep you talking. Don't get too comfortable because you think you have an endgame secured. Barchie will become a couple. If they don't get bughead's screentime, oh well, nobody does. So maybe it's a sign bughead needs to take a backseat for a while if they want to keep the show fresh.

Let’s be honest tho... Betty chose everyone else over herself and her own feelings. Which makes her a great friend. BUT she’s in denial because if she really did love Jughead, she wouldn’t have felt reminiscent feelings when Archie was singing, she would’ve never kissed him and vice versa with Archie. Archie would’ve never written a song for Betty (Which he’s never done for Veronica) and he would’ve never kissed Betty either. I feel like when they’re saying “I love Jughead” And “I love Veronica” they want to say afterwards, “... sorry with all my respect but those flashbacks, the diaries, the song he wrote for her, their duet, their dance, their emotional talks… EVERYTHING SCREAMS BARCHIE ENDGAME. So enjoy Bughead while you can, because it is not going to last. Barchie is Endgame and this episode just confirmed it for me. The angst and slowburn relationships are typical for Endgame Couples. See Lucas and Peyton, or Damon and Elena or Klaus and Caroline, or even Chuck and Blair.

Cheryl was 100% right about Betty’s feelings for Archie, she was in love with the idea of him as opposed to genuinely liking him. Bughead are soulmates, they are meant to be what they have is genuine and beautiful, Cheryl saying that wasn’t an accident it’s true, Betty will always care and love Archie but her feelings for Jughead are so much more and are way stronger. Plus Lili is the no1 Bughead warrior and Cole we all know Lili isn’t a fan of Barchie and I think the actors feelings come into account to a point.

I see Betty keeping the 1 diary as, almost sort of like a memento, or something like that. Basically, Betty keeping that 1 diary as a memory. In other words, that her younger PAST self loved Archie, and that her current PRESENT self loves Jughead!! That’s how I view Betty burning most of her diaries and keeping the 1 diary. Also, I kinda think that the reason Archie is reconsidering the naval academy is maybe because of Betty, like his feelings towards her or something.

SarahM I don‘t think she really was close to choose Archie. She was just in her past, where everything was easy. But she realized that Archie isn‘t her future. I feel like Cheryl helped her with that. But for Archie I really feel like he had fall in love with Betty. I just think Betty finally moved on from her past. She‘s afraid of her future , that‘s normal. But everytime Barchie could had happened Betty still choosed Jughead. This Barchie thing had to happen, that Betty finally realize that Archie isn‘t her future. Maybe they gonna let Barchie happen in season 5 but it failed everytime. So, I don‘t see it coming and I don‘t hope it will. Barchie was a cute idea in season 1 and 2, but now I don‘t see it anymore.

I have this wild theory. I feel like Mr. Honey was out for the Riverdale High School students in general because he is getting revenge for what happened to Edgar Evernever and Jughead's evil professor, because they are all related. Maybe he's even related to Donna. Because it seems very convenient that all this madness started to happen when Mr. Honey became principal. I feel like Mr. Honey has played the long game since he became principal. I remember giving every student a hard time in the beginning of the season, threatening the Core Four and Cheryl, Kevin, and Reggie on personal levels at the beginning of the season. Since Honey was at the video store, maybe he was the one behind sending the tapes and the tickle porn business, just to mess with them. Remember, this videotape storyline started at the end of 4×3, the episode where Edgar died. Somehow the Farm, including Evelyn, is planning something big to ruin Riverdale at this special senior year. I'm going to take even one step further into saying maybe Charles and Chic is in association with Edgar in some way. Remember this is a theory, but I feel it might make the most sense.

I find it VERY telling that Archie waited to get serious about the Naval Academy until after Betty shut him down. He obviously doesn’t want to be with Veronica anymore. But let’s be real... all Betty and Jughead have in common is solving mysteries. Without a mystery to solve, they’re relationship would fizzle out. I think season 5 will bring a big time jump, probably everyone returning to Riverdale after college.. that would be the perfect timing for Barchie! Because, FACT, Betty and Archie ARE endgame! 😘
