Harvina Arvi no see that’s where you’re wrong. barchie is the least toxic most passionate couple on the show and deserve screen time. betty obviously wants in a good place and cheryl took advantage of that. she told betty her feelings when she wasn’t even sure herself. she loves archie or else she wouldn’t have had such a hard and emotional time telling him she “didn’t love him and she loved jug”. if that’s how she really felt she wouldn’t have been so emotional. she would have just been able to say to his face “archie i love jughead and we had a chance but now it’s over” she could have said that with no emotion if that’s how she really felt. but obviously she did love him and knew that going through with her feelings would hurt jug, which is why she was emotional. she wants archie and only archie. but she didn’t want to hurt jug. i’ve never been okay with cheating, but neither of the couple bughead or varchie are in a good place right now. varchie is purely physical and only for the sex and no love and bughead isn’t in a good place right now. betty and archie deserve to be together. they’ve been friends forever and they deserve a happy life.

I'm honestly fine with whoever ends up together. Mostly rooting for Barchie... but for right now I'm SO glad they aren't continuing to cheat... it's honestly the best for everyone. We'll get emotional character storylines. Long term better for Barchie, more anguish and slow burn. And for right now Bughead and Varchie, both whom I love. One mistake is not the same as continuous cheating, which means easier to fix the inevitable fallout of the core 4. Overall healthier more emotional storylines for all the ships.

Archie and Betty have been through so much before the show, and so much during. So I do see their potential if we're doing a time jump. Relationships are dynamic and there's more than one right romantic option for a character.

So y’all don’t find it interesting that Betty didn’t let Archie actually play his song? The song stirred feelings inside her that she knew WEREN’T nostalgic. They were present, real, feelings & she knew by the time the song ended those feelings would outweigh the guilt. Going back to prom night, Betty followed her heart when she asked Archie if he loved her and he followed his head & rejected her. This time it’s Archie who is following his heart & Betty is the one who is thinking with her head... At one point they will both think with their hearts, this is only the beginning of barchie, we’re all in for a ride 🤷🏻‍♀️

I love the parallel of her breaking his heart exactly as he broke hers. It makes the story more dynamic, definitely not over. And I love that we aren't starting Barchie with cheating. I also don't see anything wrong with them longing for the simplicity and safety of being together. After all that they've been through... it makes perfect sense and might be what's best in the long term.

Betty was so hurt by Archie, her best friend and safety net(with her crazy home life) rejecting her that she suppressed her emotions so deep and fell for Jughead, the first person to comfort, accept and care for her romantically. Archie thought he would never be good enough for Betty, even as a friend and broke his own heart rejecting her because he didn't want to lose her friendship, lying to himself about his own feelings. And then they both got lead down such dark paths because they lost eachother. Lost all fo their innocence and endured so much only to find eachother in this situation and get hurt all over again. I love what you said, about the parallels and about them switching roles in following mind vs heart. SO heart wrenching. I honestly love this storyline.

I really am rooting for barchie. I’m glad they decided not to continue (hopefully just for now) because of how they were doing it, but the fact that they were cheating is gonna come out eventually. I feel as if Betty chose to stay with Jughead because she doesn’t want to hurt him and as she said, she loves Jughead but then again, I think she may just be staying with him to play it safe because she knows she LOVES him. I think the word “love” is a key word in this season because back to what I said before, she played it safe staying with jughead because he wouldn’t get hurt, and she LOVES him but when she was talking with Cheryl she said “I think I’ve been IN LOVE with Archie for 10 years”. That’s very different. LOVE and IN LOVE. I don’t think that Betty knows that yet and she’s mainly just focusing on not wanting to hurt jughead or Veronica. Archie on the other hand, he noticed that. He noticed that he LOVED Veronica (of course) but that he was IN LOVE with Betty. I think in the prom episode (next season due to the virus) the cheating will be revealed since prom is an ongoing drama setting in most teen shows giving the current couples a break which also gives Betty time to think about what she really wants. Alice might have also saved barchie by saving that diary. One last thing I noticed is that the song Archie wrote for Betty actually has a full version on KZbin that finishes till the end. Why would they write a WHOLE song only for the first two lines to be played? I believe that if Betty and Archie get together again maybe in season 5 or later, he will get the chance to sing the FULL song. Again this is just what I think and I could be wrong I just don’t understand why they would have a full episode with a bunch of different Betty and Archie scenes and SHOW that the feelings they had never went away only to completely ruin it the next episode. They should have never continued as best friends and go on dating other people if they knew they still had feelings for the other.
