The Navy rigorously reviews all media recorded near, on, or inside submarines. That's why you notice so many abrupt cuts right at the start of a command being given or other speech. Anything even remotely sensitive is cut.

things have changed since when I was in. You could not have a beard. Those submarines are hard take a certain person office of the deck and or diving officer a woman, thanks for doing that.

Not all, just on the right shoulder. US Flag code says the flag should always be shown as if on a flagpole in forward motion. I tried to post an excellent link from The Smithsonian on this topic, but it glitched out, so I guess links aren't allowed here (thanks for the no warning YT). Google it if you'd like to read it.

In 2010, former Defense Secretary Robert M. Gates lifted the ban, allowing women to serve on submarines. The Navy began with women serving as officers first and by 2016, the submarine force integrated its first command with enlisted women. Women served on Boomers and SSGNs first, then slowly on fast attacks. The USS New Jersey, featured in this clip, is the first submarine designed from the keel up with integrated crews in mind, mostly berthing related changes.
