I'm glad to see the boating community come together to aid another boater in a stressful situation. I just love your down to earth videos. You have been on my favorites list for years and I always look forward to your Sunday morning morning uploads. It takes me forever to put together a one or two minute clip every month or so. I don't know how you possibly get so much footage, then edit it, make it entertaining, and post it every single week.

Thanks for such a kind comment! It is in fact a ton of work but the kids motivate Braden and I. We love having this visual journal for them to rewatch and look back on!! I’m so glad we can share it with others to enjoy as well.

Another great video guys. You just record things the way they happen eg real boating life. So many sailing channels are false now. Keep up the great adventures.

We did the same a few years ago. Our friends on a Kadey Krogen had a similar problem. We lifted their dinghy up and swung it across our boat and dropped it on their boat deck. We did this at Powell Cay, Abaco.

A good idea to have a chain block in the engine room, a 2000kg one is quite small in size, but would be a easy job with the tender.

We have static wicks to dissipate the electrical charge from lightning strikes in aircraft. That way the energy from those is taken away from aircraft. Do boats not have such a protection? Safe travels.

Well, some teamwork between boaters. The way it should be.

We lost our NMEA 2k communication (cross-talk) while in our marina. A sailboat took the lightning hit, about 200 feet from our slip. All systems power up, but no data/sensor feeds from the AP, gps, wind, maretron, etc….😢. Dealing with it now.

Foolish question how are they going to get the dingy back on board? Or is the crane replacement motor on the way?

Exactly. They had to get the parts sent in! All is fixed now.

@@ABOARDMERMAIDMONSTER Glad it all worked out well. But boaters can be a tight knit community and willing to assist someone in need of a helping hand. That is simply courtesy of the sea and the fraternity of sailors.

Was this June 16? If you’re running systems they’ll get fried if you’re hit. There can be damage even when it is not a direct hot but nearby. A month or so ago many boats were hit.
@captainsalty90227 ай бұрын
The science on lightening strikes is fuzzy. There are lots of claims, but there always seems to be exceptions that put claims into doubt. A Faraday cage and complete disconnect from ships ground and electrical system works but is not a practical solution. A steel boat might do it.

Hi guys i like the video's even though some are boring, can't hit a home run everytime. And i know it's hard work making the videos. Having said that i left a comment on the music on a particular vidio, i said it stinks i stand by that ,in fact some of it is down right bazaar on a lot of videos. Now putting ur family on U-TUBE for all to see what a great life you have. You need to expect some comments you dont agree with, and not cop an attitude, remember you guys , a lot of comments are not ment to be mean there just comments. And to the fan of your's that COMMENTED I can't believe some people leave mean comments. All i have to say is GIVE ME A BREAK (SNOWFLAKE ❄️) ! 😊

What are you referring to? Did we respond to you on something lol? We are aware we can’t please everyone and we are totally chill with that. Trust me, we don’t get offended. We could care less unless the comments are inappropriate and in that case we just remove them.

Love your videos! Thanks for sharing a life most of us long for. You and your husband let us know the good and the not so good. Your biggest asset is your just normal people with enough money to do this. Not once did you rub it in anyone's face about your not so average life style, so thanks and carry on...😊
