Thanks for sharing boating and family life! Looks like everyone enjoyed the beach and the piglets. Working for the next month or more here at Morehead City NC, like seeing all the very nice boats!

What a great ending to a challenging cruise. Your smile shines, Brooke, when you mention that it was a hard journey but that you love it. I'm glad Mermaid Monster missed the strongest winds. The day at Sandy Beach (and the pigs!) made the challenge worthwhile. Thank you for another great episode.

On the anchor chain measure could you take a 100 ft length of small wire or something that won’t float then snorkel/dive and use it to mark your chain temp with colored ties?
@robertsandall94937 ай бұрын
Maybe when letting the chain out, count every second equals approximately 3 feet.

@@ABOARDMERMAIDMONSTER Kinda knew your answer in advance, but, curiosity was at play. Myself, grew up on the ocean. Crossed a few seas myself. The Atlantic the Mediterranean., red sea, Arabian sea, explored the Persian gulf... I was on board a ro-ro ship. One time we were about 100 miles west of the Azores, ran into waves cresting over our bow. Waterline to bow, sixty feet. Many times on the bridge, going through the seas of Atlantic, always remind me of being a cork in a set of rapids. Rouge waves always made you wonder, is this my last trip. Sunrises and sunsets, are beautiful from the middle of the oceans. Enjoy your videos, and thank you for sharing them.

Count the length of chain that goes out for 10 seconds of windlass roll out. Then you have a fairly accurate measure for 10 seconds of roll out. Then just time your windass roll out , & you will know the amount of chain going out to water. ( make sure your time count is correct )
@captainsalty90228 ай бұрын
See Edward Mackintosh’s suggestion. Then divide by ten to find how many feet per second. It’s easy after that and accurate enough. I did this on my own boat for a similar reason. My hydraulic windlass moves chain at one foot per second. Makes it easy.

Hi, I agree with you guys about nordhavn especially since your familiar and have already had a good experience. That being said you can’t tell me y’all aren’t considering a Bering Explorer(65ft)?! Love the show guy.
@ABOARDMERMAIDMONSTER8 ай бұрын
We actually aren’t considering a Bering. They are not tried and true and tested like the Nordhavns. ❤️

Bering yachts are well built and designed. They have steel hulls instead of glass, so it depends on the person’s preference. I don’t think you can go wrong with either Nordhaven or Bering.
@ABOARDMERMAIDMONSTER8 ай бұрын
Maybe not but show us where to find a Bering to view and what accomplishments they have under their belts? We are genuinely hard pressed to find one! Not dissing Bering we just can’t find them!
@dasimcoes8 ай бұрын
@@ABOARDMERMAIDMONSTER Honestly, there aren’t many out there for sale. I have found a few online. Most are built to order. The only issue for me was/is the smallest explorer yacht they make is a 65, which is a little too big for What I wanted/needed. The company is young for ship builders, Around 2006 or 2007 I think. As for accomplishments, I just searched online just like I did for Nordhavn. Thanks for the reply and safe travels. I enjoy your videos.

That's what I was about ready to say just when you go into town get some rope and a tape measure measure the rope out leave a little space at the end of time not then once you know where the length of your rope saw is at certain points you marked the rope then you'd take it back to the yacht tie it to the very first loop in the chain that's attached to the anchor and then let it out along the side of the chain And that shouldn't the marks under opposition market chain where your shot point should be
@brianhughes69868 ай бұрын
So time 10 feet or 20 eliminate and work from there

Now for the only way those owners of those mega yachts to be able to have time alone on the ot by themselves with the crew taking some short leave as if the owner has a unlimited captain's license
