Awesome run, don't know if I could do it that fast myself! Pro tip though, you can carry the girl's body at the end of the 1st level into the boss fight, so if you go in with full rage + girl's body, you can kill the boss super fast! P.S. I programmed this game :-D

Agreed. My fastest time in this game is just under 43 minutes, which is comically slow compared to this. Granted I'm using keyboard controls, but I honestly don't think it matters all that much (except when I'm on the right side of the platforming contra level and am unable to shoot up and to the left for some odd reason).

43 minutes is still pretty good. My fastest time was well above that. Using a controller on this game is surprisingly difficult as using Joy2Key has me stuck using the Analog stick to move, and it gets very difficult in some sections (especially the Zelda level). So getting a 43 on a keyboard is impressive still.

My PB is now down to 32:03. :) A USB-connected NES controller might not be a bad idea for this game - I'd use mine, but one of the buttons kind of sticks which is far from ideal in a button-mashing level. The bane of my existence remains the water level. I'm nearly a minute (!!!) slower than this runner there (most of the remaining advantage he has over me is in the Contra levels where he jumps over everything while I tend to shoot everything). The sad thing is his run would be sub-29 had he executed the double knockdown of little mac (I think that saves around 30 sec).
