Yeah it's almost borrowed from a concept from fighting games called "stuffing" which basically involved interrupting an opponent's attacks and carrying on with your own, alot of that happened here.

Yeah this was epic to beat as a young teen but still doesn't come near the first punchout a few years earlier. The world looks different to an 8 year old in 1987. Watching the older kids stuck at soda pop and where every enemy they beat felt monumentally and historically important lol. By the time this super punchout came out the innocence was stripped of us Xennials and we were jaded beyond recognition. Never felt as important as the first game.

Super Punch-Out!! for the SNES is the best Punch-Out game and it should've stayed canon. Granted, yeah, we wouldn't have the Wii version, Piston Honda's characterization in it, and "Release the Bogus", but it still would've been cool to keep the SNES sequel to the NES Punch-Out!! canon. I was pretty good at hitting the opponents right before they could deliver a punch, but I definitely had to dodge. Some I could counter better than others. Heike Kagero I could usually take down pretty quick. The rapid super punches in this game are priceless.

He'll say different things depending on how many times you get knocked down. If you don't get knocked down, you get "Piece of cake" while 1 knockdown is "Got 'em" and 2 knockdowns is "Too close"
