Adam, love the vids, I am an aircraft maintenance engineer, I wish that 1/2 of the apprentices I have worked with over the years had the same love of their tooling as you do. Watching you on the manual machine tools makes me think that I chose the wrong path. Keep it up, hi to Abby.

I bought a used Brown and Sharpe 0 size dividing head from an estate. It sat in an unconditioned shop for several years. The old timer got Alzheimer's and his daughter took care of him till he passed. Windows fell out of the shop, squirrels and rodents lived there for years. Your file work gives me hope that I can get this running again. He was sure tough on his equipment. Hammer marks all over and the dovetails have broken areas where it hit the floor.... several times. Thank you so much for the hints on how to round the edges and smooth the curved parts.

It’s interesting that America is not the only country that manufactures big steel. But equally interesting is that so much of American made big steel remains functional, relevant and under heavy industrial use a century after it was made. My average large tractor is over seventy years old, my logging equipment over fifty and my shop manufacturing equipment almost 150 years old and with good maintenance there is no likely end to its usefulness in my lifetime. I enjoy watching you fix and put back into service these great pieces of American made steel. (He says..Squeezing back a tear of national pride....you know..from back when it was okay to be proud of the great things about America?)
@clutch5sp9894 жыл бұрын
Just noting you posting this during our great President Trump's first term. Your last sentence makes no sense or really means you hate America.
@viscache14 жыл бұрын
@@clutch5sp989 >not sure how you got that. Trump has indeed been a great president. Most men would have crumbled under the scathing hatred and vitriol which he has wrongfully and illegally endured from several members of the social/communist liberals in Congress. When I wrote this comment I was horrified by the widespread hatred of America being shown by the terrorists burning our cities, shooting American children in the streets and extorting small businesses to pay protection as if they could run an organized syndicate with impunity...which in many large, largely Democratically controlled cities across America..they not only could but were encouraged by elected leaders in direct violation to the state and federal laws. I am proud of America. We have made great strides in the treatment of all people. We have not reached perfection but we continue to strive for better. Your accusation either springs from ignorance of what was happening at the time or a purposeful misunderstanding of my relevant comment. You can do better.

Great job Adam, your attention to detail is astounding!! There is one thing I do NOT understand, even as someone who is not a machinist ... the thumbs downs on this video, how is that possible, what could their reasons be? I know that there will always be haters but what did they not like??
@Andrewlang906 жыл бұрын
Francois Fouché Their reasons are petty. Probably do to the fact that they’d like to be a machinist but aren’t, or they wish they had a shop like his and don’t

@turningpoint66436 жыл бұрын
Probably not a complete mystery, I strongly suspect there's a few around who do it on purpose simply because it drives comments about "why" anyone would do so on something there's obviously nothing to dislike to begin with. Maybe they thrive on stupid crap like that? You can't fix stupidity, arrogance or just being a true A-hole on purpose without something that's moving about 180 grains at 2700 fps or more right between the eyes. Tough part is hitting that peanut sized brain rolling around like it's in a boxcar. :-) The more subscribers and more importantly the better the channel the more you seem to see those dislikes for zero reason. Have a look at the top subscribed channels on YT and what there about, pretty much says it all about average IQ and wot seems to impress a whole lot of people. :-( Personally I think YT should change things so the likes/dislikes show the user name list just by clicking on it. I can't recall hitting the few dislikes I have without saying exactly why. Clickbait pictures always get an automatic one from me.

Hey Adam - I have an Equipto 30x30" cabinet just like your two new ones, also with locking drawers, except that (1) it's on wheels (removable), (2) the drawers are thinner (5 are 2" and 3 are 2 3/4") and (3) it has a fair number of dividers and (4) a boatload of 4x3" and 2x3" bins. I'm in California, which is not anywhere near Florida. The whole thing is your's for free, but you pay the freight. You haven't caught another cold, it's springtime and the pollen is rising and it's simply allergies! I've got the same thing here in N. California with the pine trees and the first signs of pollen. The symptoms are similar to a cold as your body responds to a virus or pollen similarly. Recovery takes about 2-3 weeks. Ask your doctor during your next visit whether they can give you a shot to help suppress the symptoms. There's seasonal shots that my friend gets that'll really helps but need to be given earlier for best results.
