I love how the orks are portrayed in this campaign. They're brutal and scary, but also undeniably orky. They don't care when their plans don't work, and just try something else, usually with overwhelming numbers. The part where the ork jet has a wrecking ball attached to it, and causes the pilot to crash into the ground always makes me laugh!

We got some cool knight stuff this time, but I'd still like to see some other regiments come to the forefront in the new lore. In Terminator armor? ...Okay." And "Really? Wolves? I thought there weren't any wolves left on Fenris." That and the anger at the constant references to Cordite in the last video make these so much fun to listen to.

4:39:10 those are Thunderwolves. The apex predator of Fenris that roam its northernmost ice caps. With natural claws and teeth that can tear through the strongest of defenses, a shaggy coat as strong as matted steel wire and standing at 8ft tall to the shoulders they are quite terrifying. Like seriously they make a space marine look like a toddler standing next to a mastiff. The phrase “ There are no wolves on Fenris” most likely mean that there are no naturally native wolves on Fenris. It’s heavily implied in the novels “Prospero Burn” and A Thousand Sons” by Graham McNeill that the “wolves” of Fenris are actually the descendants of the heavily mutated colonists from the Dark Age of Technology and the large breed like the Thunderwolves are descendants of first failed Neophytes of the Spacewolves. Thus explain their larger size, ferocity, and also automatic loyalty to high ranking Space Wolf brothers. So yes, you can say that they are a sort of next stage of Wulfen mutants.
@ABorderPrince2 жыл бұрын
Space marines riding big dogs was a lame and cringe addition to the game. But your right that stuff was in the Ragnar blakemane series about the colonists much earlier.
@rumpelstilzz2 жыл бұрын
@@ABorderPrince Well, the Ragnar Blackmane series is the worst thing ever in the whole of warhammer40k lore. A protagonist who never even comes close to failing at anything, sneaks - SNEAKS!!! - around in standard space marine power armor, never misses a shot, never runs out of ammo, never even has to reload his weapon over the course of 3 books. Featuring a perspective switch and character arc for a rival - which just vanishes into nothingness after initiation... Actually there is tons of fan fiction with more tension and internal cohesion than Space Wolf trilogy. (Edit: My criticism is based on my perception of the Space Marine trope, which is formed up and foremost by the very good and very old game 'Chaos Gate' - and what a space marine is able to in that game (and about the rest of 40k lore) and the space wolf series, one might think the name space marine is used for two completely different things.)

Genetic engineering, as I remember it, in the dark age of technology, (dark age became the couldn’t imperium fears AI) it was normal to use genetic engineering on humans, animals, plants, and terraforming planets to make human life possible, many of the human subspecies like Orgyn,s were made like that. And as Fenris is a death world it was a natural place for the things that are different not wolves 😱
@kimmogensen4888 Жыл бұрын
@@rumpelstilzz Mary sue caricature in storytelling are the worst, it’s lazy by the author and kills the reader’s interest, like in Star Wars the first 3 movies published, 4-5-6 were Luke definitely is not a Mary sue, but then Disney made Rey a classic Mary sue character that was just not interesting at all. The struggle of the protagonist, the flaws of the protagonist, an almost unbelievable strong villain that almost defeats the protagonists is what makes a story interesting.

The Sergeant, le sire géant, in medieval France translates to 'noble sir' and is nothing more than the title 'knight'. Seen from this perspective, it might be an imperial knight. It also might be a sergeant rank space marine who can command all the muggel trooper because he's astartes. In both cases it badly needs mentioning, so I'm just grabbing at any explanation coming to my mind. Yea. Will just be someone not have taken care :DDD

Love the idea of the knight's floating island fortress. Seafearing combat really is one of the most overlooked/wasted potential things in all of 40k. You'd imagine the imperium having massive battleships, submarines and scuba-mechs to fight on all the countless oceanworlds and god only knows what crazy shit all the xenos factions would have lurking in the depths. Atlantean necrons or eldar anyone? But well if james can't sell a model of something he frankly doesn't care so too bad.
