An inquest into the death of Aboriginal Noongar man, Mr Riley, 39, has begun in Perth, WA, examining whether the actions and force used by police were appropriate, and whether the excessive tasering was a factor in his death.
On the day of his death, he was seeking medical help.
His family members including his mother Margaret, sister Cassandra and his children, gathered outside the court for a smoking ceremony ahead of the hearing. They held Black Lives Matter signs. The family hopes the inquest will provide some answers and healing.
