I love watching families working together to meet a common goal. Don’t care much for the competition of families, which in my humble opinion is divisive to families. Your family works so well together. It’s a joy to watch

I'm glad to see you got your 30 ft. I joists moved on your trailer. I think if you had rigged all the way to the end of your load and started with your log frame more at a 45° angle? Then as you lift you would transfer more of the weight to the front of the trailer. You had the right idea I think it was just a matter of rigging and the lift points. Shifting the center of gravity further to the front. Just for the purposes of getting down your driveway. Don't know for sure how that would've worked it's just something I think I would have tried. Good job on your home build. We love your videos. Been watching since the beginning. If people are watching and haven't subscribed what are you waiting for? This is an excellent KZbin channel.

You two are Mr. and Mrs. Fantastic! You are faced with a problem and talk about it then select a plan of action that seems correct. And.... what do you know? It works. Moving the joists with your sticks was a safe way to move the joist in place. I love how you collaborate and support each other. Blessings to you as you proceed with your house build.

Have you considered the location of toilets, bathtub/shower drains or vent stacks for upstairs. It is very frustrating to realize that there is a floor joist dead center of a toilet drain, or bathtub/shower drain. Also the direction the main drain has to run in an upstairs bathroom. That to can be very frustrating to find a 4 inch drain will have to be cut into every floor joist when the joists can be planed ahead to run in the same direction. Just a thought. One more thought, it is advisable to install all dead wood or sheetrock nailers on the top plates as well as blocking to tie a free standing wall before installing the decking. It is tough to nail with the decking in place. You may have thought about all this already but in case you haven't. I am not trying to be a know it all, I have been there and just want to try help save you some frustrations if I can.

Hello Jacob. Top plates. I have walked many top plates, bending over with a framing hammer (we did not use air guns back in the 1980s) and with a nail pouch filled with 16D Sinkers sending those 16Ds all in at angles. What a tiring job that was. You make it look so easy.

Looking good, and nice of you to build a jungle gym for the kids. On a side note, with how late in the season it is, you mite want to paint the subfloor on the first story. It is going to get wet soon and painting it will help in keeping the water from soaking in and getting the I-beams wet.

Dont touch stuff twice if you can help it. If you take the smaller ones just put them on the trailer and take them up . Then get the large ones.

The shorter I-beams need to move forward to provide tongue weight instead of tongue lift. Forward weight your trailer.

I wanna take a guess as to why you're not framing the second-half of the house yet. It seems to me that you're gonna make a second story on top of the current part that you're building. And that the part you're not building will be single story with extra high ceilings. Therefore it will be easier to frame that part when you get the second story done on the first part. Am I close, lol

Too late now, but in case you have more long stuff to bring down. What about you slinging the end with a strap and using the tractor to lift up the weight and both of you drive slowing down the driveway.
