Thanks for sharing. I went to school with Jim, Wendy and Chris and was in choir with them. Very unique sound and I occasionally caught their shows around our hometown.

I remember this and the song "Counting Cuts" from my obsessive taping of the "underground" music shows on WMNF in Tampa circa 1985-1989. Thanx for sharing!

I got to meet them and hang out at a bar in Austin. It was really nice they are all such down to Earth people. I loved seeing and visiting with them. Really a fun evening!!!!

Back in the early `80's, we used to play at this sleazy dive that refused to let any of our fans come see us, charged outrageous door prices and kept most of the money people DID manage to pay. (Our fans would tell us how they came to see us that night but were refused entrance and then were told that, even if they offered $20.00 to come in (most door prices were $2 to $5), he would push them away and refuse to let them pay to get in!!) We considered these gigs as live rehearsals. What little they pulled in when we played there, they gave to the "soundman". He had loads of gear for this tiny dump and would give us maybe 3 mics, (one for the vocals, one for my snare and one for one of my bass drums!!). He'd do a sound check and then spend the entiirity of the rest of the night shooting pool in the back room! One night, he played this album via cassette over the P.A. until it was time for us to go on. I liked it and asked him about it. A few weeks later, we played there again and, by this time was fed up with busting my ass at these gigs and him getting all the money to go in the back and shoot pool so, I took it upon myself to liberate him of his copy of this album!! (One night, my guitarist wanted a glass of water and they charged him 50 cents for it!! After the gig, they paid us with a 6-pack of beer!! So, because I don't drink, I played that gig for free!!)

Heresy, Heresy is probably my fave, but hey, I love both albums -- There is No and Play Jacks. I shot several photos of them when they performed at a club in College Station, and then saw them at The Library in Denton, right across the street from UNT.
