How is the weather during summer? What are the highest temperatures?
@LivingInCedarCity Жыл бұрын
You can expect high 80s - mid 90s for a lot of the summer. We occasionally get a little hotter than that, but it's not consistently super hot. The evenings are beautiful in the summer, cooling down to the 70s for a lot of the time.

So Jennie part of the reason yall have not put grass in a lot of the surrounding areas which would have prevented that flood is due to the fact yall have not secured the water sources to handle all the agriculture.... great explanation thank you for this video and info very good! I can't wait to be there with you all. I will do everything I can to help. I would like to learn more about the terrain areas and if you could make a video with info about this and reliable water sources nearby and maybe we can come up with ideas to make our mining of these sources as resourceful as possible to help the city and iron county grow!!!! This is a great video!!!

@@LivingInCedarCity I also learned from your video that mining is when you take a resource that does not replenish... I didn't know that so mining water is not the goal the goal is to have it as a regenerative and sustainable source kinda like Solar energy awesome!

Wow, my questions were answered. What about 55 & over subdivisions? Can U buy w/o building or is there time restrictions? Thanks. We're visiting family Pres Day weekend

Hi Vic - Right now there is just Crescent Heights for 55+, and they sell homes, not lots. There are a couple of communities that might be a good fit, Crestline in Ironhorse (see the video that we did for more info!) have homes available, and you can reserve a future one, and Shurtz Canyon will be starting soon as well. Give me a call or text, and let's schedule a visit while you're in town!

Thank you. That was very informative. I began looking at Southern Utah a couple of years ago as a medium term (5 years) potential relocation area. Last summer I came and toured St George and surrounding communities towards the west (Ivins, Santa Clara, Veyo, Bloomington). My plan is to return this coming summer and go east and see Washington, Hurricane, LaVerkin, etc. This video has convinced me I need to get far enough north to see Cedar City. Yes, I would have asked the 'water question' as well. May I assume the proposed Lake Powell Pipeline would be for Washington County and not apply to Cedar City based upon what you reported here? One other question, can you suggest any places to stop/visit as one goes northeast from St George? I am looking for things that are unique and give the local area some personality as opposed to the endless chain stores and restaurants etc. Thanks, James

Hi James! St. George has some wonderful things to offer as well - the difference in climate is what makes the decision for many folks. As you're coming up from the Hurricane/LaVerkin area, stop at the Main Street Cafe in Hurricane, check out the River Rock Roasting Company in LaVerkin, and of course The Stagecoach Grille. Amazing! If you take a detour east into Springdale, there are many fabulous boutiques and galleries - very gifted regional artists. As far as recreation, you can golf at Sand Hollow resort or check out Sand Hollow reservoir in Hurricane, Quail Creek reservoir is beautiful as well. Lots of hiking trails there that are perfect this time of year. Regarding the LPP, Cedar City opted out of it many years ago, instead focusing on developing other sources and conservation methods. Welcome to the area!

@@LivingInCedarCity Thank you so much for the rapid and informative response. Springdale's art boutiques and galleries were not something I was aware of. Criteria for a future place to live definitely includes something beyond the standard 'box box' retail so information like that really appeals to me. Thank you also for the confirmation on the LPP because if one is planning a long term move to the West, a place which is not dependent upon the Colorado river system is a strong plus in my mind. Thank you, and I look forward to my next excursion to Southern Utah.
