I know that the Miyawaki forest method instructs that the trees should be planted 1 meter apart. This might produce a rapid forest, however I don't think the trees would be able to grow to full size because it simply is not enough room for their trunks to expand their girth. Has anyone experimented conducting a Miyawaki method when spreading the plants further than 1 meter apart?

Trees selection is also a important part. Which trees will be planted next to each other is important thing. So When they grow taller, they get enough room to grow

You are right. The trunk doesnt grow wide enough. But a Thick vegetative Forest is created within 2~3 years. This really helps restore the ecosystem of bringing back the insects, Birds, Birds of Prey, Butterflies, Bees, Pest, Smaller Animals. They all are so important to restore the food chain cycle. We have to start thinking about planting trees for Beyond humans.There is a lot more to understand about this.

Planting grass and shrubs on top of the high rise buildings is an option in big cities. They can absorb a lot carbon dioxide. Waste water like that used for handwashing, cloth washing can be used to water it.

Can the Miyawaki forest be done below the metro liner in Mumbai.... I'm sure there are many obstacles to it, but is it possible?

Its very much Possible. But Most of the Metros are built in Centre of Busy Roads. So the Under the Metro Area is Called Median . Its dangerous to Plant Tall Growing Trees with Branches going out wildly as we do not have enough space to safegaurd Vehicles from these Tree Branches. For that Mainly Palms or Bushes are suggested.
