Why Sorin is the best? Because he explain things like a father to his son would do. No smug, no "secrets" not trying to sell you anything, or I never screwed up BS, just plain simple explanations, straightforward. This channel is the best period.

I'm 66 and have worked on about just about all types of entertainment centers and communication radios but after the micro chips started coming out I quit but now I see you and what is used to mount those IC's and all it doesn't look too awful bad as long as you have a microscope...so I guess I need to load up on newer tools and go out and make me a million dollars..the one I didn't make in the ffirst place..

You are the miracle! ty sir, you are my Super Star! i'm about to buy a linear psu.. I want it to stop functioning when there is a very strong short but also i want it to give power when i keep down the amps.. So i'm confused about the following psu characteristics. Do i really need to have one of them, some or all of them? The characteristics are: Short-circuit protection, overload protection, reverse polarity protection. Ty again for all your great and priceless work for the hobbiest and not only around the whole world.

Master Sorin, could you make a video listing the most suitable devices for a small laboratory? There is an embarrassment of online choice and unfortunately a neophyte has difficulty in choosing a device for work compared to others, perhaps with a link to the product and any referral linked to you? Thanks for the enormous knowledge he shares with all of us, there is always something to learn and certainly nothing is missing on his channel, he is an encyclopedia of the world of living computing. Happy to have known this channel, greetings from Italy.

You know what this guy actually teaches you how to keep your cool also, and just think and try stuff out without being a drama queen like some of the other channels. I was just watching a video on someone elses channel and they were flapping like a chicken, where as sorin would just start tracing things back from where the error is, building up schematics etc.

How I ended up on your channel. My wife's friend asked me if I could look at her laptop because she said it didn't work, which can be anything. The laptop. A Lenovo IdeaPad 110s-11IBR. The issue: Not charging, so battery was dead. I put it under a magnifier & I noticed that the + line popped off the rear of the 'Charge Port'. I ordered a 'Soldering Gun' with the 'Reel' on the back of it, which also has an 'Auto-Feed' system built into the Soldering Gun. I was able to re-solder the + line/wire, back onto the Charger Port. I should have bought one of these Soldering Guns a long time ago because it's so easy to solder using one hand, instead of using both hands. Ya know, one hand to feed the Solder & the other to hold a Soldering Gun. It also helps because if you don't have enough room, or you need to hold the piece that needs the soldering with one hand, now you'd be able to solder using just one hand. Amazon & eBay sell them. I don't care who it is, if you don't have one of these type of Soldering Guns, you need to buy one. The best $25.00 I ever spent... Great video, glad I found your channel. Also thanks for showing us some of your equipment. I'm 63 & I've been repairing & building computers for almost 20 years now. 95% of my work over the past 8-10 years has been laptops. How I got by all these years without this tool flips me out. I would imagine you use one of these Soldering Guns but for those of you who do not have one, you really need to get one. Mine even came with a spool of solder & like I mentioned before, it was $25.00. My next piece of equipment will be a Re-Work Soldering Station. I noticed you have one but I'll watch the video again so I can see what brand you use. I'd do more soldering if I had the right tools since that's what helps make you better at what you do. The right tools. Thanks again for the video, it really helps us out a lot........
@em0_tion
@em0_tion 4 жыл бұрын
As long as it works for you it's the best tool for the job :D I don't like these guns cause i prefer to have better control on the tin quantity i feed to the work. Plus you can't control temperature at the soldering tip with this device and you don't have a lot of tip shapes available for it. If you're thinking of buying a soldering station i would recommend you a KSGER T12 soldering station from Banggood, at least that's what i'm using. Just do the final Quality Control before plugging it in for the 1st time, it's made of Chinesium after all. It's not expensive and it gets a lot of jobs done. Homemade third hand helps a lot to hold your work while soldering ;) I've been working in the same field for over 10 years and it's cool to hear from a guy with much more experience than me. Wish you all the best, Monty :)

@Electronics repair school . 2 questions. So you don't have an 'All-In-One' Re-Work Soldering Station, you have a Soldering Gun & a separate 'Heat Gun'. Is it better to have them separate instead of all in one? Also my 2nd question is, with USB ends, which 2 connections are the + & -? Thanks & also thanks again for your video, it's a good one...
@em0_tion
@em0_tion 4 жыл бұрын
For your 2nd question you can simply google "usb pinout" and look at the image results, everything is explained in detail ;) As for the 1st question, a tool meant to do only ONE job will probably always be better at that job than a tool that combines the job of 3/4/5 other tools. It's just a matter of what you need and what you can afford. If you don't have a lot of money to spare, just buy a soldering station + heat gun 2in1 device. It would still be great. If you mainly solder all day long, but you barely ever need desoldering chips, you can even not buy a heat gun at all and just invest the money in a better quality soldering station or other equipment, you know.
