This is one of two videos; in this video I check the alignment of the five bands and find that one band needs bringing back into line. I'm not a professional 'Radio Repairer' I do things in my own way with a signal generator to provide the RF carrier and a second signal generator providing an audible tone. Towards the end of the second video I do show how the manufactures say it should be done, that's by using the radios BFO, (beat frequency oscillator.) I'm not saying that what I do is right or better I'm simply sharing my experience of what I'm doing and how I do it. I intend to check the IF alignment but that will be in another video. I have done a great deal of work with this radio including redrawing the circuit diagram and components list.
Here is the link to the circuit that I've redrawn on the Eddystone user group's site where you can find my circuit. www.eddystoneusergroup.org.uk/...
I have also identified the 20 inductors in the radio, as they were not identified in the original manual. When I redrew the circuit I did it so as you can print it on one page or in a much larger scale on four pages. If you can't open that link or fine the Eddystone site let me know.
Here's the link to About Radio 50 where I go through the RF alignment. • About Radio 50 RF Alig...
I hope that the 13 second opening sequence is ok, (not irritating), it's just that I thought seeing as though I've uploaded some 50 'About Radio' videos I'd give them an identity from here on.
Thanks for watching.
Kind Regards ... Andy
