yeah, i think people overrate launch week drama. Sure it sucks being excited for a game for long and then not being able to play it fluently the week it drops. But ultimatively these issues are OF COURSE going to be fixed in a short while and noone will remember them over the long term. The game is not running away, and waiting 2 weeks for fixes on queues, map change delays and some connection issues is not the end of the world. It's clearly a fantasticgame when it runs, which it will, that's the most important thing.

Gender lock is due to saving funds and time. It takes more funds to remodal gear for 2 genders vs 1. Clearly it saves on time. EHG has stated this similarly.

The game became mostly stable for me on the evening of Day 2 and has been fine since then. My only complaint with the game so far is that they nerfed Advent of the Erased boots on Day 3 which was a build-breaking nerf for a lot of Rogue builds. This should have been done on launch or not at all as it likely would have changed a lot of people's decisions on what class/mastery to start the cycle with. Overall though, currently better than D4 and I'll be playing this game for awhile.

obviously a company that can afford to have their own network infrastructure and employ their own technicians and have full stack control of their entire operation is going to face more scrutiny than a remote team of people from all around the country who have to hire a third party to manage all this for them. They're beholden to them, they're customers just like us, and if its not a priority on their end, the game suffers. The company isnt responsible for that; they literally have no other option.

Launch issues happen, and people have a right to be..i guess we can call it upset, when they spent their money and they can't play the game they spent money on. HOWEVER, the game isn't going anywhere. Be upset, go find something else to do, and come back in a few days. It's not like you rented a movie and only have it for a day or two before you have to bring it back. Shit happens, that's life. And it's okay that shit happens. Just gotta adjust your perspective a bit. I hope everyone can get in and play ASAP.

How are people still surprised about this stuff? I can't think of any major mmo/online game launch that has been flawless in the last 10 years, and if there have been any, they absolutely have to be in the minority. People expecting a flawless launch and taking personal days off for it and whatever.... that just seems dumb. Would I love a perfect launch? Sure. Does it seem dumb to expect any company to create the infrastructure to maintain a launch day playerbase, when the playerbase is guaranteed to be somewhere under 50% of that after two months, for even the most amazing title ever? Sure. Come on, guys. Moderate expectation. Guaranteeing a perfect launch requires investment into a ton of infrastructure that would be, literally, wasted money after a month or three.

Moderate expectation is the assumption that things will crash and loading will be long. I would say not being able to even login for 2-3 days is an abysmal failure. I still review the game highly, I'm level 72 and having a blast. It would just be a lie to say this went well or even moderately well, or even slightly okay. Or even poorly. This was dreadfully bad.
