Thanks Shady Mike. Even in 2k23 this helps. I try to run a very realistic franchise mode and the shooting with real player % has always been almost impossible to dial in. Knowing how this slider works is really going to help me with that if I can apply what you explain correctly.

What’s up bro considering shooting and making open shots is pretty easy what would you recommend putting 3 point shooting slider on? As well as the shot timing slider

IMO that slider means absolutely nothing at all because it is more of a bonus on how much you are open. We really need instead a slider from 2K that ONLY affects the impact that contest has on the making (or timing) of a shot, without impacting anything else. I hoped at first that that slider would do that but sadly I was sorely disappointed. Since the slider is not tied to contest per se if you lower it you also lower the effectiveness of making shots when you are open, and - what's make the matter really complicated - the slider works only for the TIMING window, not on the making percentage itself, rendering its integration too much of a hassle for what's worth for how I see it. Maybe with a lot of testing you could even find a happy medium but IMO it is much easier to simply use as always the jump shot defense sliders and leave shot coverage alone.

& Jaylen brown & everyone playing. Most shots are contested. That’s why you always see mello & simmons knocking down 3s like Steph in pick up games because they don’t double & don’t really contest no fans. Mostly every shot there’s someone’s 6”10 wingspan in your face.

I tested the sliders and the conclusion I've come to is that if you raise it let's say to 70 it's a higher chance for to go in...look at it as percentage, at 70 it's a 30% chance it will go in when covered and a 70% chance of going in when open.but if you lower it to let's say 40 it's a 60% chance of it going in when covered and a 40% chance it goes in when open. If anyone has any different results let me know

@@acemuziq1065 I put mines and cpu at about 46-48 if its maxed out then only open shots will go in, basically everytime though.if at 30 more contested shots will go in but alot more open shots will be missed..The key to making more contested shots though is to also lower the layup defensive strength and jumpshot defensive strength(takeoff,release& gather) I have mine and cpu at 30/30 for layups(takeoff&release) and 25/25 for jumpshots gather& release.

When you do real player percentage, the jumpshot changes..it's ok, it's just real player percentage ..

@@saleemhawatmeh Actually... it's the other way around. Most shots players take in the NBA are theoretically "contested" ...It is rare per game for a player to have a wide open shot in the NBA. Yes it happens, but only a few times per game, majority of the shots are defended in some way. That's what makes NBA players special because they can hit the tough shots... stars like Dame, Luka & Steph are rare because they can do this consistently with little effort while other players have moments where they hit big shot here or there ...but far less consistently.
