Unrelated to the topic, but I just want to say I absolutely ADORE the monster designs in this game! This is honestly the first game since Pokemon itself where the monsters have been a huge draw.

@@nudratkabirtasfia5168 There's a hint of inspiration with the style that hearkens back to when pokemon designs were more simpler and less busy but they're definitely not "copy and paste". In fact any colorful anime style monster could pass as a pokemon.

I’d say monster hunter has great monster designs (more so favoring biological fantasy than outright fantasy like Pokémon), with stories 2 being a fantastic monster taming rpg.

I love the idea of fusion systems in monster gaming especially if they manage to make it Steven universe-esque (meaning the fusion is a culmination forming something new even if it looks similar instead of just being the sum of their parts)

The fusion mechanic in this seems to be the most common type of fusion is many monster/creature taming games. It kind of reminds me of the combining mechanic in Monster Rancher (specifically MR2 because I'm not sure what it was in MR1). It would be interesting to see how this game would handle the fusion of two monsters that were already the results of fusion.

Since the first trailer they haven't really showed anything else about fusion, they might have scrapped the system and I'll be fine with that, the game looks awesome either way

Honestly, after playing Cassette Beasts, I can say fusing is overrated and often a crutch. It's just a stat boost and the result is so boring. It's a sausage with some details from both. If anything, Pal world fusion look more like "shinies" in CB, different base type and, while esthetically underwhelming, it's a much better mechanic.

I'm kind of bummed that there probably isn't evolution in palworld. It's a very nice mechanic for progression when you stick with a mon for a long time and to see what it turns into. Fusions are fun and all But evolutions just hit different in my opinion. Hopefully it's done well enough where I won't notice or miss it

Im imagining that it kinda works like cassette beasts bootlegs where they change their primary/secondary(if it hays one) depending on what you breed and probably passing down egg moves, i don't necessarily think stats will be that important because every monster seems to fill some nice, flying, bozooka ammo etc

The first game I can think of that truly made monster fusion a thing...is Jade Cocoon! I now have it on an emulator console hooked up to my TV, and this whole discussion SO makes me wanna boot that one of a kind title up to begin experimenting with combos!

i dont know if the fusion system will even exist, it may be a pre rendered cgi part of the trailer (like a lot of parts of the trailers) a later breakdown they released of the games mechanics show the electric version of the blue dinosaur spawning naturally in the wild as simply a different variant, with the mechanics breakdown making no mention of fusion

The blue dinosaur got a mohawk during the fusion, yet the serpent didn't get anything added onto it. I think certain monsters might physically change during a fusion, if there's a certain monster fusing with it. Like the Absolute Fusions from Monster Crown.

They were both taken at different times one was before unreal engine the other was after unreal engine update, people forget that at the start alot of its aesthetics was shown in that garbage engine unity, craftopia is still using it, after transference it was put in the unreal engine, so can't really put contrast on the 2, but yes the breeding/fusion hasn't made an appearance since, so unless they taken it off the board for the moment just to get things done sooner or there might be some other reason
