8:10 mark: I bought one of those to try and it's still sitting here unused. Lol. They are very expensive, so I only plan on having a few on hand for real emergencies when I can't cook or don't have anything in my pantry to cook from scratch. Idk about anyone else, but I take my bucket toilet with me wherever I go. I don't leave it behind. Lol.

Agreed. they are really nice to have on hand when you need them.

The Toyota minivan you saw was an older model that was actually based on the frame of the same size pickup, so not only do all the parts generally fit but you can actually buy a factory OEM 4x4 minivan that's as usable as a Toyota truck off road. The old VW Syncro Vanagons also have a massive amount of upgrades available for the off road/rally enthusiast. The first time I pay a fee I just get the forest pass - however, some places still have a day use because they're not included. There are multiple passes from multiple levels and agencies of government but it takes a little time to drill down and figure out who reciprocates what where. At least for Oregon. Can't say about other states, this is where I've always been.

Was it one of the Japanese imports? Those things are awesome. It is confusing up here. I have the state park and nw forest but not America the beautiful. I also didn't know that other places sell the nw forest pass besides the ranger station.

@@IntoTheMystery13 Naw, there's just not many of them around, they were only distributed in the US for a couple years. But that being said I have been in them and if you look under it's a legit Toyota truck frame, they literally just called it "Toyota Van". People build them up too, there are several 90's dodge/ford vans that were on the same truck frames as their heavy duty models, too. I've gone electric, though. I can make electricity, I can't make gas. Check online about the passes, once you drill down, click through, and get the right few tabs up you can see the various passes and also the discounts available for veterans, disabled, seniors, etc. and all of those are lifetime passes. Just like in Oregon if you've lived here something like 50 or 60 continuous years you get the "pioneer" package of tags and other licenses to harvest; I'm sure WA has similar. Everyone in PNW has to manage the wildlife or you'll get overrun like we did with Elk (they had to euthanize something like 200+ total, 120+ in Clatsop County alone, because tags forecast the year before weren't filed during the panny and there was a population explosion). Everyone has to pay to empty the trash cans and maintain trails, et al. In any case, you can buy almost everything online and if they need documents for disability or veterans you can just upload a photo of the docs and they usually process it almost immediately. Also if you're going to be places, like distributed camping, I never got one back in the day but apparently some of the contracted/leased BLM land needs recreational permits (which I think is pure BS, but whatever) but they're like hiking permits, register online and just go in. I haven't seen those be limited like hiking permits, but it's fine - I kind of like that I told someone where I was going to be, honestly.

hell yeah dude another great video! Are Oregon gas stations all self serve now? I remember the first time I took a trip up there from CA it tripped me out letting someone else pump my gas
@IntoTheMystery132 ай бұрын
So most gas stations in the city have half of the pumps for self serve, and the other half is staffed which they call "mini serve" for some reason. It's a weird system.
