lol what!? It's considered by half the scene that Trance started its heavy decline from 06 onwards. The other half claim it died after 1999 haha. I enjoyed many tracks from 07-09 but this was not even close to being the best years of Trance. It was the 'beginning of the end'... although I feel positive in last few years again

Beckwith from Anjunadeep summed it up perfectly, it's only paraphrasing but along the lines of "An artist has to know that they have a unique sound to them, a sound that the crowd expect, if you start to stray away from that into other genre/sounds, audiences can be unkind. And I know a lot of artists say they want to do this, do that and the other but then what are you, who are you as an artist. Sure I love french house, hard techno but if I make a track like that I make it for myself but if I'm going to release something I make it with the sound I've developed and who I am as a producer, 1 it's what the audience expects and 2 in order to produce quality music."
