James Rushe Because music evolves according to the consumer, old and current a&b are both fantastic
@21ilopez9 жыл бұрын
James Rushe because the new generation of fans (and by fans i mean dumbasses who just listen to Sun & Moon) dont like long euphoric, uplifting tracks like this. they just want 50 sec of a build up and some big room drop. Trance like this has gone so underground its sad. And now they're trying to implement this new "Trance 2.0" or whatever and it's nothing compared to they're old work. Just for the money now.

Hot take: what if they also just got tired of making that style? Behind every track an artist has put out, there's probably dozens of similar drafts they made; add it all up and you start to feel like you've made the same track hundreds of times, and maybe you feel like switching things up. Even if you look at someone like Giuseppe Ottaviani or Solarstone, it's not always entirely accurate to say that their songs now sound like the trance scene did however many years ago, even if it's kept more of those flavors. Or look at, say, Axwell /\ Ingrosso (not trance but similar idea)...so many fans have asked for the progressive versions of More Than You Know and Dreamer that it sounds like they could make a fair amount of cash from those. Same with Steve Angello, with his bajillion unreleased IDs, like Sentido etc. Yet these tracks haven't been released, so I would guess that something else is at play here; maybe they just open up the project files and don't get as excited as they used to, for whatever reason. Plus it seems like when more is made of a certain style (see: trance 2.0), everyone gets fatigued. Like how Jason Ross tracks seemed to get higher praise around the time of Atlas/Frontier because they were a fresher sound, but now (even though I personally liked Higher Love, Many Days, etc.) Anjuna fans on Reddit or whatever are practically begging for him to either switch things up or stop releasing on Anjuna.

this song, although not complete, was the last song for BBC Radio 1's essential mix of the year in 2004. Just wow... This song is probably over 12 years old now, yet it doesn't feel old and I don't want it to feel old. I'm just waiting for the day when I have kids and my kids tell me, "DAD... THIS SONG IS SOOOO OLD".

I wish the 3 of you still made trance like this); If you're going to have vocalists involved, at least rid the tracks of the "trousey" (what I refer to as a mix of trance+house, haha) midlines and downbeats. In my opinion, it would make your records so much better :/ I'll be an a&b fan until the day I perish, as you gentlemen are the ones that inspired me to become a trance producer, but it would just be so outstanding and stellar to see you all return to your roots. It truly would be a blessing to the trancefamily.

Why doesn't A&B (or other great trance artists) make these kind of tunes anymore? I understand the genre has evolved, and that demand powers supply, therefore everyone is just trying to make some money and appeal to today's fanbase... But why can't these great artists make BOTH?!! At least here and there work on some new tracks more reminiscent of old style trance?
@jayth64 жыл бұрын
Most trance producers who turn to mainstream use other alias to tell that they still can make trance but not as usual as before for example Arty-alpha 9 Avb-gaia or rising star A&B-oceanlab or tranquility base Ferry corsten-gouryella or system f

they wanted to do something else they said, look how they are now, their own fanbase people following them, after some years I think they wanted to go this way.
@johndub38663 жыл бұрын
Because Americans in general don't go for it. A&B wanted to crack the US, and the modern stuff is what works there. But to our more sophisticated ears, the old school stuff is so vastly superior. But seriously, I like the new stuff, but for me the first CD of the Anjunabeats 100 double is just audio perfection.
@blazymolds74957 ай бұрын
Apart from the comments about them being sold out to US mainstream market I would also add that there could be pther reasons for that, too. For example, more often than not it's difficult for artists to outbeat themselves production wise. As they years pass, an artist's potential exhausts too, which prevents them from producing another masterpiece. Or it could be also simple lack of enough time or even laziness. When you just start out you are hungry for success and you meticulously craft your art. Now that they have everything it's like feel natural - "Why torture myself if I already have big hits and people will come to my concerts anyway, even if I no longer release masterpieces"?

well the only thing you can do its change new generation point of view to music cos now they all r about to good kick and drop ...they dont understand trance untill you r the person that can show whats its about the genre and how to listen to it - trance its addictiv ganre but you have to know whitch tracks they will like and thru that get them into it ... this year about 8 ppl are enchanced by the sound cos of me lol :D always 1st stage is most difficult but then it goes much easier - they all was fascinated by Gaia - Tuvan but hey i think tracks like that will be loved even if they r not in ganre hehe
