Above ground heat pump

Review of xtreampowerus above ground pool heat pump and how I set it up. You’ll have to excuse the one long pause in the video, I’ve never done one like this. I found it hard to get information on installing and I hope this helps someone.

Hi, these are the settings I have mine set to and it works great, though on colder nights you’ll have to watch the defrost time or you’ll wake up to a lot of ice. Also make sure it’s pumping at 14-17 gallons per minute, I think that’s the most important part: I put the temperatures below in C&F. Hope this helps. Thank you! 1 95°F = 35°C 2 2°F 3 b2 (I think it’s because it’s unable to display the 3rd digit) 4 1 (in case of a power failure. It will turn back on if set at one if it’s set at zero, it will not.) 5 10°F = -12°C 6 -2°F = -19°C 7 34°F = 1°C 8 10°F = -12°C 9 I think this setting changes it to Celsius or Fahrenheit 1/0

I'm also in Utah and thinking of getting one. Has it performed better since the air temperature has been going up? What have you been able to get the water temperature to?

Yes it has definitely been doing better with the higher temps. I’m at 87 degrees now.

Hey great video. I purchased a xtremepower US unit similar to this not sure if it the new model. It's rated UP TO 4,000 GALLONS 14800BTU/HR. My pool is 2500 gallons and I started off at 67 degrees and it's gone up to 77 degrees in 24 hours. Is that normal to have it only gone up 10 degrees in 24 hours in your opinion? Just looking for your opinion on if its working as it should. Thanks

It's been around 60 at night lows and 75 day highs.

Yes that is normal. It will take about a week or two to get up into the 80s.

Hi @jason, I have the same heater-mine is not heating at all after 36 hours. Can you please tell me what settings you have? Mine has different options than what is in this video

@@jsparky87 can you tell me what options you have? Also do you have it diverted to have only 14-17 gpm go through the heater? Paste your options here and I’ll fill in the best settings I’d use. Also if you can put your average day and night temp that would be helpful.

how do I get it to run and get rid of the P4

Im getting a headache watching that screen. I see nothing but numbers flashing. Does it actually tell you anything on that screen? How can you read that

@abav811 Your welcome I hope you were able to get yours running and working well. Mine is still going strong. Although it’s been a colder spring in Utah than usual so I’ve had to keep adjusting the defrost setting.
