I use our pressure washer to clean thes3 cartridges. Top to bottom always... Just got a new pool with this same filter, so I had to watch how to remove / replace, and also have the chlorination system that goes with it.

This has worked great all summer. My first summer with this system. Today when I did this after about 20 min. the top of the cartridge started loudly rattling against the lid. Tried everything and its still rattling loudly with pump on high, no rattle when pump on low. any help?? thanks

I had the same issue. Here is a quick fix. Take some heavy duty gorilla tape and wrap the top of the inside of the filter housing/top where the cartridge slides around. Wrap it about 4 times. It will stop your noise. I have read that Hayward knows about this defect & is offering a gasket that stops the noise. I have reached out to Hayward numerous times on their web site & they have not even replied. I also stopped in at Great Escape where I purchased the SW150 Filter/Pump and showed them a video & they had not heard about this issue nor about a gasket to fix this issue. They did suggest that you could turn the filter upside down & that might stop the rattle. My guess is the filter cover shaft where the filter slides in is to big causing the very loud rattling noise. Not happy with the Hayward Corporation at all. Good luck!

I am planning to get a 21' X 54 sidewall pool. Holds 10,620 gallons per the chart. Please let me know what Filter this is and if it would work for my pool. I also have a 1.5 variable speed Hayward pump with 1.5 plumbing. I want a filter big enough so I won't be cleaning the thing every single day as my previous tiny thing did.

I don't quite understand why anyone would use these. Sandfilters require no manual cleaning, more or less. Yes they do waste some water.

it's a Waterway ClearWater Cartridge. They this series in various sizes. One thing I'm adding to my new set up is the Waterco Cyclone pre-filter.
