you can get the pentair aqualuminator (last product shown) when the bulb burns out you can take it off melt the glue holding the lens over it and replace the mr16 with a led mr 16 using ~8 watts getting you a heck of a lot more light for less + the color will be a super white instead of a halogen whitish yellow. i even put a smart color changing led bulb in there so i can change up the color if i want you just use silicone to seal it up real good after your done. fyi you can swap out the bulb right at the start or you can wait till the existing halogen bulb burns out.

Hi Chad, how do you change a bulb in. the cut in lights? The person who closed my pool had only removed the bulb and gave it to me. While opening the pool he said that apparently i lost one part which holds the halogen..

What light would you need for a 26ft round pool?

I have a tiny 12’ round pool and that first light was really dim!

I want to put in a cut in light in a 24' round AG pool. I have the pool drained about a 1/3 of the way down for the winter. Do I really need to pull the liner back? I have 1/8" foam insulation between steel wall and liner, I figured a 1 1/2" hole saw carefully cutting through I should be ok? Also, is it good practice to paint the cut surface / circumference of cut wall with primer or paint to help prevent rusting? Also, any Nicheless light should work for this application? Thanks.
@abovegroundpros6 жыл бұрын
Yes you'll have to pull the liner back to cut the hole and you also have to cut the phone off the wall around the light. If the gasket of the light pinches the phone it will leave for sure.

Regarding a return light...how will a return light affect flow and head pressure? It appears there may be a secondary return port on the side of the light, or is that the hose fitting for the outside of the pool?? I’m going to plumb 1 1/2” pvc off of a 1.5hp pump and I do not want to choke my flow rate.
@abovegroundpros6 жыл бұрын
The return light won't affect your flow rate you'll be fine. Depending on what light you get some you can hard pipe and some you got to use a hose or else get a special rubber adapter for it.

So for the lights that you permanently install through holes in the wall, do you have to drain the pool below the lights in order to replace the bulbs?

No

Will one return light be enough light for a 18' x 33' oval and can you adjust the direction of the light?

How about floating lights? Would you recommend them? I am researching and trying to find the best lights for my size of pool. Thank you for getting back with me.

+Marty Lamb floating lights are fine for smaller pools but they're never the greatest quality lights

The light that you have to cut the wall... Will that Void any warranty on the pool by cutting the wall
@abovegroundpros9 жыл бұрын
Most manufacturers that make the light say no, but some of the manufacturers of the pool say yes. There is no certain answer without contacting the pool's manufacturer itself. However, we have installed these lights for years and they are good lights that cause no problems with the pool's as long as they are installed correctly.

i'm doing an aquasport 52 and burying it mostly in ground, my return will be underground/inaccessable. Will I ever need access behind the Aqualumiator to do a bulb change or can everything be done from inside the pool once it's installed?
@abovegroundpros6 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't recommend doing that light if it's going to go underground because you will have to dig that dirt back out to replace it if you ever choose to.
@0utcast4 жыл бұрын
aqualuminator is a light that is designed for A/G pools. i have one. if you have an I/G pool you'd need to install some kind of box that would allow you to access the return area to install and swap out the bulb when it dies. like the uploader said you'd have to dig up dirt etc if you wanna replace the bulb. go with a light that is designed for an I/G pool.

Will the return light be enough lighting for a 27x52 round pool?
@abovegroundpros6 жыл бұрын
If you are speaking of the aquailluminator, then just barely.

Above Ground Pros the return light is the one I was talking about?
@abovegroundpros6 жыл бұрын
They have a handle of return lights in the business. The aquailluminator is by far the most powerful light and it's still a little shy for a 27.

if you are on a gfci or GFCI/AFCI you are safe (provided you test the gfci on a regular basis and it trips) your filter should already be on a GFCI GFCI/AFCI if not then your not code.

There are so many more options for lights on above ground pools.. there are magnetic lights, suction cup lights, solar lights.. or just be creative . You can also use regular l.e.d strip lights, they sell them for 10 15 bucks for a 16 foot roll An come with a remote and options for 12v 110v and solar power option. An yes they come waterproof as well.. just be creative an ull spend 1/4 the amount of money on lighting An be happier with what u get, rather than spend 100 plus dollars on 1 light system that probably only gonna light a small section of the pool. Pool lights they sell are a waste of money!

Can u install them underwater about 1’ from the bottom? I have a 18’x52” round pool
@michaelpalmisano67884 жыл бұрын
Suzanne Cluff yes I have a 22ft x54 round pool and I have two different set ups in mine because I'm just weird I guess lol. Anyway you can get magnetic rgb lights at Walmart for about 8 bucks each which work pretty well . I got mine for 5 bucks a piece last year after the season , they were on clearance , but you can buy a pack of 4 I think for 20 on eBay which are the same thing, An they come with a remote. You definitely need a few tho to light up the pool. Other option is a led strip light. They will tell you they are waterproof if they are waterproof , or just type in on eBay waterproof led strips.. you can get them any size , than you just need a power supply to run them ..batteries , solar panel whatever you want . The 15 foot strip lights can cost as little as 10 bucks depending if you want multicolor or single color etc..
@abovegroundpros4 жыл бұрын
No ma'am there's too much weight at the bottom of the pool you'll have to follow the manufacturer's instructions on where you can place them
@michaelpalmisano67884 жыл бұрын
Above Ground Pros weight? Not trying to be an ass but weight really plays no part in the leds working... I mean yea you cant take them to the bottom of the ocean An expect them to work ,but in an 18x52 pool there's what maybe 10,000 gallons in that size pool, putting the lights I was talking about in my comment a foot above the bottom of the pool they will work perfectly fine. Weight plays absolutely no part in this situation what so ever. You name says "above ground pool pro" An you may know a lot more about pools than I do but I sell and install .l.e.d lighting for a living. I install them on vehicles, boats, jet ski, motorcycles you name it , been selling and installing them at my shop for years. I installed them on my old pool which was the same exact size mention..( wal mart pool) and I installed them on my current pool which is a bit bigger An they have been working flawless for the past 6 years. I have them all over my pool, some a foot or so from the surface , some are on the floor An a few other places.. granted the lights I sell are a bit better than what you get on eBay an Amazon but as long as they are waterproof and your connection points are sealed good them lights will work perfectly fine anywhere in that pool. Them led lights "specifically " made for pools is a gimmick..it's a bunch of b.s to make money. In fact most of the so called pool led lights are the same lights that are on led strips, they just placed in a different housing . No matter how you look at those 50 60 100 dollar pool lights are nothing more than 10 dollar leds

Michael Palmisano Do you have pictures? I’ve been trying different lighting for the past 6 years and I’ve always been unhappy. The only one that actually looked good was the return light but it slowed down the flow too much. Everything else was just too dim.
