The genealogy of Adam that ends in Jesus is the genealogy of the spiritual man (John 3:23-38), that is, the one God chooses to make his eternal covenant through the blood covenant of His Own Son. Towards the end when you talk about the "earth was divided" could that mean when certain pieces of land literally were split? I was just thinking earlier today about how it looks like South America used to be part of Africa, and how America has been split from all of these other Biblically mentioned lands- maybe the Earth used to consist of just one big earth in the middle, and the Lord split it up intentionally. Just spit balling at this point, but it came to mind.

The pangea similarity is a matter of water level because The pieces aren't floating or "fit" together. This came about because of catastrophism to the earth itself during the flood. The continents are connected because it's all geological formations with water remaining This came from the fountains of the deep and rain ... It's both/and. The rain arguably was coming back down from the fountains of the deep breaking open. With the plausibility of a hydro canopy to create the conditions described, The conditions during that time were obviously different which disproves a uniformitarian understanding. I don't know if you're looking at this from a religious or historical point of view but if you look for the work of Matt Lacroix he already figured so much out, the history of Noah and the flood and were his descendants landed and how they split the land between the tree sons following Enlil orders after the flood. I hope you know who Enki and Enlil are because if you don't know you have a lot of studying to do but it's an amazing story. Check Lacroix interviews on Julian Dorey podcast or others.
