Bonding is always stronger if the material you use is absorbent,, if you had roughed up the surface of those metal plates and made sure they were grease and dirt free, the bond would be much stronger.

Nice video. So great that you can post something like this and it's still educating people 5 years later! A nice follow up would be gluing the different materials to each other. For instance, I'm need to glue some metal magnets to a plastic piece I 3D printed. Be nice to know how well glue guns work for that.

Can a 100 watt glue gun glue a stronger bond? Your were using a 60 watt gun , so i was wondering. Also there are industrial strength glue guns with stronger glue sticks. Ever try those?

Does glue gun can melt nylon?
@worldwide13765 жыл бұрын
Was the metal cleaned to ensure any manufacturing oils or otherwise was removed? You probably already know this, but all materials must be free from any sort of oily film for optimal bonding.

You should do a PSI test on that glue. See what's the highest PSI you can achieve with that glue gun.

why not just use regular glue? why do I have to be restricted to where the glue gun is plugged to the wall?

The only thing is plastics & metal wont hold that long unless it isnt being handled then it would give a longer holding time.
