ABR Festival 2023 The All New Bridgestone Trail

I've just returned from the ABR Festival at Ragley Hall in Warwickshire & wanted to share this video with you as an additional video to my weekly offerings. A brilliant trail, much better and longer than previous years. Challenging in parts, but rewarding to complete it in one piece, unscathed! Great fun, i did the course including all the exbert bits on my 701. It was my friend on the CRF that had fallen, and it was my other friend you where chatting with after the mud slide, i was helping the fallen rider out. Try the TRF next time. I have a full video of it i intend to share shortly, ill share it when its up. Thanks for sharing 👍🏻

Hi, small world eh? I definitely regret not doing the expert bits, I’m new to this game, more used to riding on the road so I get a bit intimidated at these events by the trails and think I won’t be able to manage them when I probably could in fairness if I was a bit careful. Next year I might fetch my FE350 and give the TRF trail a stab, I’ve seen some videos on it and that did look fun. Looking forward to seeing your video, thanks for watching and leaving a comment. 👍

Mike, likewise, I enjoyed our chat and of course meeting you and having a little ride around the course. What did you think of the muddy section, do you think the Honda would have survived it? 👍

@@701Adventures The steep/muddy section was much longer than I expected, but seeing it now, I should have grown some. Also I missed out on the rest of that loop, never mind, next year. Did a final run on Sunday morning, without any mishaps. Will definitely be in touch for a Yorkshire ride out. Cheers, Mike

That’s really kind of you to say so. I love this place and especially the opportunity it presents for riders like me to just give it a go and enjoy the trails. If you get into strife, there’s always someone there to offer some help and advice. You should attend next year especially if you live close by. 👍

That looked like a blast and if the video is anything to go by, looks like you enjoyed the weekend. Did the trails become over busy during the weekend or was it well spaced out? Would you attend next year?

It was an absolute blast, very enjoyable and yes I’ve already been sent a link to purchase discounted loyalty tickets for 2024, so yes I’ll be attending for sure. The trails are well managed and riders entering the route are staggered so that it doesn’t get bottle necked. If you’ve never attended, put it on your must do list for 2024. 👍

Good video I did same course first time off road on a triumph 900 not mine you made it look easy video doesn’t show how hard it was? I never stood up on a bike before all new to me! I was knackered after lol 😂 it was a great event see you next year 👍

No I stuck to the main trails on this occasion as I was with some friends, one on a GSA 1200 and two on GS 310's. Neither would have survived the TRF trail I'm not even sure if I would have. Having said that I watched some videos of it this morning and it didn't look too much out of my comfort zone.

Small world indeed! What did you reckon to the course, it's not too shabby is it? I think it offers a bit of everything and of course there is always the option to bale out if you feel the need. 👍

👏👏👏 well done Steve feels like over the last few vids you’re making real progress! I’m a couple of days into my TÊT trip. Trails are unreal. Much harder than I imagined. Especially loaded up with camping gear etc. Having said that it’s amazing how you start to get into the flow. Had a little problem yesterday amber engine check light and red engine/oil light came on. Turned out I was a little low on rad coolant (oil level fine) top it back up and now they stay on when I turn ignition on but go out as soon as engine starts. I’m hoping it basical mean I had a problem ok now just needs garage to reset warning lights. 🙏 Don’t know if you know anything on that one? Anyway the bad news for you is you’ll need to start looking for expert level tracks to suit you’re new level. 😂

Duncan thanks for watching and leaving a comment. Funnily enough I was only thinking today, I wonder if Duncan has started his TET adventure. Coincidentally I also topped up my coolant before this trip as I thought it was getting a tad low and it's been exceptionally hot here, 27-30 degrees no less!. My warning light didn't come on & I don't know if in your case anything needs to be reset or whether it's simply a case of you've topped it up so you're now good to go. I thought I might have been able to earn a few hot chocolates from you at this event but it seems I can't even accomplish that these days!! There is an expert/TRF trail at this event and I'm sure by next year I'll be ready to give it a go. Great video mate, very informative for people who haven’t done the trail or who cut off early as the previous section was a little to tiring. Did you try all the expert sections aswell?

Thank you, glad you enjoyed it. I’m only a novice but I still enjoy the trails. I always believe it’s important to show all the trail not just parts of it, that way others can make an informed judgement of whether it’s within their ability or not. I didn’t do the expert sections as I bottled it, wish I had tried them now though. I did however do a steep ascent near the end which was classed as expert and managed perfectly fine. There’s always next year. 😂

@@701Adventures yeah definitely try the expert sections next time as although they are labelled expert they are only a little trickier than the standard Bridgestone trail. We label them expert just to put off beginners really.

Good video, did they cut out the really muddy section for the Saturday? Either that or i missed a turn, both possible 😉. Enjoyed the trail on my crf250 rally 🤘🏍

No the muddy downhill section was still there on Saturday, I did it, you must have missed a turn. 👍

Yes we put in an easy route to avoid it as when it dried up on Saturday we decided it was more dangerous as speed became an issue.

On the Bridgestone Trail, at 19:11 of your video we put an easy option in on Saturday morning that went straight on though the woods on a gravel trail to avoid having to do the rutted hill. It came out at the 5mph section by the ladies house.

@@MrCRAIGREVO that's what I came through on then, the course was great fun, I'm working on getting bike fitness back after tendonitis issues so the mix of easy sections with some more technical bits was ideal for me.
