I played this at a band camp I went to in seventh grade, and I just found the music for my part again. I'm a senior now, and Frank Ticheli is actually one of my favorite composers (we played Angels in the Architecture and Vesuvius in my band last year, are playing An American Elegy this year and played Vesuvius in District Band, AND we're singing one of his choral pieces in choir) and it just blew my mind to know that I actually played a piece by him years before I really knew who he was :)

I loved playing this one! I may have been soloing on Clarinet 3, but goddamn I think I rocked it. If you're ever soloing a part, do what your director says but also get out on that stage and own that part, because it is yours and yours to make your own.
