he plays so sincerely. simply in technical passages. he lets the music shine through rather than forcing his idea on the music. i'm very grateful for the beauty of Mr. Shtern's playing and for uploads of his rare craft, whether video or audio. thank you! :)

I studied with him for about 5 or 6 years. I fully credit him for making me a musician, rather than just a violin player. Granted, I don't play much anymore, but his lessons still remain in the head and the hands. He trully is a master.
