@AT first of all T-90 is nowhere near similar to the T-72 Second, most of the Iraqi tanks were T-55s, even older tanks Third they weren't Russian, they were export models cheaper and weaker plus they were sold to Iraq in pieces and they assembled them Third everything you said was wrong there weren't 3000 destroyed tanks. Tanks that were destroyed were mostly taken out by the airforce Fourth Iraqi crews were not trained properly, had low morale and some didn't even had live ammunition but used practice rounds Fifth American tank commanders themselves said that if the situation was reversed, that if they have had Iraqi tanks and the Iraqis American tanks - the result would be the same. And that's why America has probably the best army - not because of the equipment or technology but because of the training and how well does the personnel know their armaments

The track would disintegrate
@jeffersongraves52953 жыл бұрын
@raider if you look at the the track and notice the holes in the side of the end connectors, those are called cooling tubes. The suspension and transmission will hold perfectly fine, the track on the other hand will get so hot that if it doesn't fail due to stress, the heat and vibration would back the wedge bolts out of the end connectors. If that happened you would lose the end connectors and more than likely the heat and stress would break the other side causing the track to fall apart.
@K_GHOST225 Жыл бұрын
@@jeffersongraves5295 There is a "cam" or a piece of metal with a smooth arc on it at the rear of the tank on the side, this will knock any loose end connectors back in place long before they ever go far enough to come off. Similarly they have sprocket guards that do the same thing for the outside. The tank in question does not have the sprocket guard as they want the #7 skirt to remain intact during maneuvering so the tank looks better / cooler to the audiences. The tracks also do not get that hot when driving at 35-40mph offroad, traveling beyond the limiter up to around 50mph would harm the bearings in the engine before it ever did any harm to the transmission or tracks. It's a max RPM safety limit issue.

@@Lofi.z34 Because of Iraq war where if you actualy do some reaserch you can easly find out that Abrams were not forced to bounce many shots... not to mention that Iraq was using obsolete ammo, that ammo was not able to do much against front of first non export version of T-72(as the export version of T-72 was made as cheap as posible...), T-64 was never sold to anyone as it was too expensive in production to make any money on it...
