The alien face seems to just be the texture being mirrored from that point on, like with Rorschach tests. Human face recognition triggers super easily so we find faces everywhere.

There actually is another, deeper laugh that occasionally sounds out in the level. I think it's Episodes 1 and 5 where Big Boo is up on his balcony. It sounds kinda like King Boo's laugh from Luigi's Mansion. You can tell it's a boo, but the laugh on the video... I have no clue. I've never heard that or heard tell of that laugh before.

The laugh was also actually taken from a stock sound library made before super Mario 64 started development, and was actually coincidentally recorded by Charles Martinet himself. I'm pretty sure it's just some sort of pitch randomizer bugging out. It happens in minecraft too, occasionally a chicken will have a super deep sound effect. The devs probably just didn't notice it before releasing the game.

The painting that seems to be of the sun surrounded by clouds is not only used as the mural on the foyer ceiling that takes you to Tower Of The Wing Cap, but is actually used for the entrance to Rainbow Ride too. What I’m interested in is the one of the night sky. I really am infatuated with this game. I want to learn all the secrets, find all the answers, see what could’ve been. One of my dreams is to finally get super Mario 128 released. I wish someone would take all this beta content we’re finding and make a romhack out of it to see what we could’ve gotten.

5:55 You said something about the sunken ship in Jolly Roger Bay on how it sunk to the ground. Here's my theory, the Eel must've attacked it. There must've been pirates on the ship and the must've made a lot of ruckus when the Eel was trying to sleep maybe. Since the pirates made too much noise the Eel got fed up and put a big dent in the ship, sinking it and the pirates down. Oh and the Eel must've ate the pirates too that's why we can't see any. Here's a little roleplay so you can get what I'm saying: Eel: Aah time for a goodnight rest *boat shakes* Eel: Those stupid pirates make so much noise... They want noise? I'll give them noise... *Eel knocks down the ship and eats pirates*

I thought the weird face on the game screen is some kind of picture because there seems to be a frame around it. Maybe it’s Bowser symbolizing while you have beaten the game, bowser is always watching to steal the princess yet again. Or I also thought it looked kind of like a weird Koopa. But going totally outside of what would be reasonable to assume in the Mario world, it honestly looks like some kind of pig to me. But I have no idea why there would be a framed pig in a Mario game

When Super Mario 64 came out, it was decades ahead of its time. It blew off the competition out of the water.

It basically created the first real 3D platformer but I didn’t think it was a matter of being ahead of its time, the context was really that the world wanted virtual reality and it never happened, but Nintendo made Mario 64 instead of VR. Either way a very important game.

I believe that the end screen is zoomed in or cropped to a point where there are characters but they aren’t visible except for the creepy face, which I think isn’t yoshi but Koopa the quick or something, which explains how there isn’t a segment dividing his nose and mouth, like yoshi.

the big boo's haunt weird laugh plays as when you enter a loading zone, sounds get pitched down due to lag, so if you time entering a door frame perfect with the start of a boo laugh, it plays a pitched down version. This also happens on the carousel building as well

4:44 That painting is actually supposed to be the Tower of the Wing Cap stage. The image on that painting is the same as the image on the ceiling of the castle's entrance room that you have to look up at to enter that stage. Kinda weird they made it into a painting, yeah, but that's what that is.

I have the answers to your questions: 1. Because the game just wanted to make it more challenging to get up the mountain for future stars. The fact that King Bob-omb and the boulders have the same sprites is just a coincidence and to save on storage and memory. 2. The devs just decided to not include them. A lot of other Mario titles dont have them (heck, all open world 3d games dont have them). The game only has 3 bosses and doesnt need koopalings 3. There are 2 related penguins for the star mission, the correct baby and the mom at the bottom of the mountain. The other penguins are just decoy that fit the level's style. 4. I have actually never heard this laugh and this blew my mind. I have no idea what causes this. 5. This is probably just an interesting cave door design. There are a lot of different textures in the game (for example the scuddle bugs look like gumballs. Why? I dont know, the future titles say they should be black and yellow striped) and this applies for more mysteries on this list. 6. Read No.5 7. This is just a coincidence. If you look closely you can see the texture is two of the same cloud textures that are flipped. No creepy face was indented 8. The guide probably means that you can safely get past it by walking slowly. The guide says 'beat' but did not mean destroy 9. These are just random towers as decoration 10. This one is a mystery to me to. I never really read the signs as a kid and this one is new to me. Probably just a goof by the devs 11. It flooded in from outside where the moat is. Draining the moat however does not cause the water in the basement to disappear because it has nowhere to go 12. Peach does not, but the devs do. The game had limited storage and memory 13. Again just decoration. This is the same texture thats underneath the rainbow ride entrance portal 14. Fry guy = fire, the level = fire. Just a decision made 15. This is done for gameplay. In 1996, a level being here wasnt obvious and it was supposed to be a secret to find just like the snowman's land 16. Why is there only one wiggler? why is there only one eel? Why is there only one dory? No reason, just gameplay choice 17. Its a magic mirror. In the DS version you can go through it 18. First off its a ghost house not a bird cage. Second because you are way smaller it looks dark and night but thats just because mario's eyes have shrunk so less light can enter. And third its just an abandoned mansion that is now haunted 19. There is no oil or water in the portal, just like dire dire docks its a ripple effect 20. No, the tower has different colors then the whomp king and the tower is way bigger. Just like in bob-omb battlefield its just a gameplay choice to make it harder to get up the mountain 21. Yes, it does make sense and she does appear there at the end of the game. However you needed 70 stars and the big star to unlock the painting 22. They are pedestals to hold up statues but the dont have a use in this game. On the DS they hold up power flowers if you go there as luigi 23. Yes, stomping on dory is animal abuse but her being down there in the first place is not. We have seen in future titles that dory swims in poison purple water so she probably can handle a lot 24. The devs made a mistake and forgot to give fall damage invincibility 25. Texture 26. Gameplay 27. Just like the yellow item boxes in other mario games, this is to show that its an item or powerup that mario can use to his advantage 28. It sunk because the eel it fat and he was inside it. As soon as the fat fuck left the ship it rised back to the surface 29. Ask a dev i dont know 28. Different island containing levels. However there are no power stars so mario has no purpose to go there 29. Ask a dev i dont know 30. pentagrams* and there represent stars, the main icon of the game 31. A lot of people see yoshi and this he kills himself but he just jumps away 32. Why not. This is to introduce that you can climb on certain surfaces 33. Why did we get goomba's but no paragoomba's? Why did we get bob-ombs but no parabob-ombs? Why should there even be parakoopa's 34. I always thought it was bowser jr. Just a textures placed on the oven where the cake was baked 35. Where are the other 15 mysteries?
