My wife brought me to America. She grew up in America and all her family are here in America. We have two kids. She is the best woman in the world. A very small Igbo girl. My wife is my Destiny. I can’t tell you everything here. There are good women.

When you marry a woman who grew up in America, and understands helping the immediate family, you have less worry cause she won't be worried about sending money back to Africa and letting the bills be solely on the man's income. You tend to avoid a lot of issues that can lead to quarrels in the home. Uprooting a plant to a different land can either grow or die.

It's funny to hear some stories shared by our Nigerian men. I'm a British citizen and also an Australian resident and having lived in both countries, my advise is our men need to evolve by understanding the present woman and also learn to improve themselves. Let's stop blaming women for our shortcomings. Improve yourself and you'll earn respect.

@Preye kwalmi Yes my brother I am a man. My first wife whom we had a son took my son and kicked me out of the house and she's from the same country and the same tribe. I have to eat a humble pie and reinvent myself instead of crying foul. I went back to university and read Mental health. All I've lost since 2010, God have restored in ten folds. My son that was taken from me when he was 3 yrs old is now living with me since 2020 and we've moved to Aussie and doing fine. I've now remarried to someone (non Nigeria) who I believe is a God sent. I want to encourage our men to equip themselves with knowledge and skills sets to help them survive when marriage goes south. I feel their pain but there's always light at the end of the tunnel.

Often times it is the authorities that put the men out of the house due to the risks posed to the woman and children in the household . It doesn't matter whose names appear on the property Deed .Had a lot of men come to view rooms because they have been put out of the family home while the wife and kids remained . Some of these men only had their own names on the property deed yet they still had to leave Women usually dont have the power to send a man packing so Its the police or the judge . The woman can also file an injunction or non molestation order to stop him coming anywhere close to the area

I wish abroad women will get the chance to tell their own story. I leave abroad, and I can tell you that our men are horrible. Our men maltreat their women, don't even take care of them because they see them as money making machine. The women will be working together to invest in Nigeria, the man will invest everything in his name, and even marry a wife secretly in Nigeria. The men act like a God and maltreat their wife when the wife have no job, when the woman now have a job, they still want to control the woman. The rate of infedility is high. Bills are shared equally, the man forgets that he is the head of the family but instead, they leave most of the responsibilities for the woman.

Hmmmmm you just said what was in my mind. I just wish these type of men are taking to court more often! Most African women abroad educate themselves, better themselves and are supportive towards their spouses and family abroad while some men sit down waiting for the woman's salary instead of improving themselves to get better too. When the situation no longer works, these men starts blaming women. When will you all learn that abroad isn't Africa or Nigeria where the abuse of women including vulnerable people are prevalence? Please learn, improve your lives and stop blaming others for your stupidity.

The guy does not make sense, what he is looking for has changed about 50 years ago. The system is more organised abroad, but marriage is the same everywhere if run the way it should and each party knows their role. Call the guy back in 15 years after his wife has fully settled in Canada and start to make money. He will probably be singing different song. I did all and still got swiped by the woman. Women that grow up in poverty goes crazy abroad once they start making small money.

What I can say is that it all varies. You have the good, the bad and the ugly like in any other places of the world. I came here to school, met a Nigerian descent who has never been to Nigeria, we got married now with two kids, bought houses and we’re going years together, God’s grace. It’s what you make of it and not one cap fits all. So daddy Freeze, you can come here if you want but like my father advised me when I was leaving Nigeria, when you get to Rome, behave like a Roman. Don’t be too Yorubaish, Igboish, Hausaish…be opened to westernization and the land will give way to you. Being staunch cultural might be a stumbling block here, even out there on the job or social. My 2 cents 😊

The guy in Canada made a lot of sense . Nigerian men needs to understand that they cannot bring their patriarchal mentality to the abroad . Women in Nigeria are oppressed by men . They consider themselves superior and will throw a woman out with children without any child support or maintenance. Some will retain the children and deny their mother access to her own children because the men have financial means while the woman has nothing to her name . All the years she invested in building that home/family goes to waste , she is left broken emotionally as she tries to navigate her life back on track . That’s barbaric but the western world does not oppress the vulnerable I.e women , children and the disabled . Instead we are empowered and protected from these wolves calling themselves husbands . It is actually good to throw them out when they misbehave that’s the only way they will understand what it feels like to be thrown out of your own home . These men will go home and bring a wife in order to rule over her because she is naive but then the women integrates into the society , get educated and start making money that’s when the men become insecure and start nagging oh is it because you now have money that you talk back at me , she endured all your abuse because she was dependent on you but now she can actually speak up and challenge you on your excesses. If a woman is helping you to secure resident permit please show her respect which she deserves and not try to belittle her whenever she speaks up for herself . You can’t bring your sick mentally to abroad and expect not to have issues . Be a good husband . Support your wife and you will be fine .

Your head too correct ✅ the men will not tell you all the nonsense they have put women through, then women start talking they will now be attributing it to money or anything else. They will say she’s disrespectful.my husband brought me and said I should not work stay home and take care of the children, he won’t give me money for anything he makes food available at home ,that’s all.even money to do my hair ordinary corn rows he will be telling me it’s too expensive.when I broke loose he attributed it the fact that I got citizenship.that’s what he went about telling people.when I opened the can of worms all I had endured for well over 8 years, the person he reported me to couldn’t believe it, and foolishly he was tryin to defend all his actions so I did not have to struggle to prove anything.he already admitted to everything.

If you are a baby-daddy or a husband living abroad, simply obey the domestic household laws, and you will have no issues with the law regarding your home. But if you become an abusive man or husband, and engage in unlawful acts, yes, you will have major issues with the law. A Judge could also issue an order for the Police to forcibly remove you from your house, because you are seen as a threat to the well-being of your wife and children. Vice-versa, the same could happen to a woman or wife. In the Western world, a husband can't force his wife to give him her income. She will have to willing give her husband her money but not by force. Unfortunately, because many African men come from lawless countries, or where the rule of law is not enforced, living abroad where the opposite is the case is extremely stressful for them.

The Nigeria women abroad should also be given a chance to share their stories. You will be surprise what this men who think they are still in Nigeria, where men is superior do . Men In Nigeria are kings, women are servants. My advice to men just remain in Nigeria , don't go aboard. That is if they want to still be kings. In Nigeria if your wife misbehave you can beat her, slap her, drive her out of the house even with the kids, marry another woman, if you die the properties will go to the man family even if both of you contributed to it. Women are blamed if marriages didn't work out, alot of women prefer even to stay in bad marriage because nobody will support you as a divorced woman, even women like yourself will blame you, this is because our culture is programed that way, the women you see today in Nigeria showing off that they are divorced are the celebrities, because they have money and fame.

I was boxing arrogant/violent men before I left Nigeria to include two of my teachers who thought I was fair play for sex! It depends on the father that brought you up. Mine brought me up never to allow any man to use me as his punchbag. When I got married, my father asked me two questions - (1) if he had ever hit me throughout my childhood and said no. (2) If he taught me how to box and I said yes. So he told me that if a man ever lays his hands on me, I should punch that man to the ground like I did those naughty boys who used to try to take my money and food at school. We are only hearing one side of this narration, from this man so let's not jump to conclusions. A lot of Nigerian men abroad slap their wives for some pathetic reasons such as there is not enough salt in their food, she had the audacity to complain about being tired and could not cook even though both of them have full time jobs and sometimes the husband is home before the wife but he still expects his food on the table, on time. I work in the legal profession in the UK and I have seen a lot of Nigerian men who suddenly find themselves on the wrong side of the law due mainly to their stupid arrogance believing women are inferior and for slapping/punching their wives. And before I am vilified for writing this, I do concede that there are horrible and narcissistic women out there BUT by and large, men, in particular, African men, are more notorious for treating their women badly. The only difference is they are called to account for such behaviour abroad. Marriage is a partnership and men are meant to love their wives like their own skin and you don't go about bashing your skin against hard objects!

Did you know bad behavior is rampant among men of different colors? Have heard the story of a white man told me by his now ex wife that the man used to demand for food even on days he got home before the wife. Let's stop throwing African men under the bus, there are good ones way better than what you would get from men of other colors. Just know who they are before falling in love.

You’re mostly right, however; I don’t believe all Nigerian men beat their wives. If you conduct a research, I believe you will find that there is no correlation btwn the number of wife beaters and the number that experienced hell from their wife. There are just those who would do anything to wreck a man, when things don’t go their way. You sense the empathy in the 1st speakers words, who would not report the wife’s misdeeds to the govt because he doesn’t see any world where only him raise the kids ( it is opposite for the women) Women are encouraged to strike and take all the spoil bcuz the system rewards them more for divorce ( or so they think). And the ignorance or many of us foreigners about the ‘fair intent’ of the laws lead to many regrettable situations. The laws can only have equitable outcomes when the two parties fight for their rights in court. Here, the men fold to the pressure, preemptively accepting defeat. Men (good men) - if you are in this situation, for God sake, READ, RESEARCH; we have rights too. I love my kids… and I told myself that even if I loose these cases, the story would not be that - I gave them up for another man to raise, without a fight. Thank God for help, thank God for victory!

A lot of these guys need self assessment. What is the part you played in the dissolution of your relationship. Example: 3rd guy said he went a whole week not talking to his woman to punish her for something he deemed a small argument... why? Not to say what she did was good, but she reacted the way she did for that reason and probably more ( whats the full story?). Abroad laws make men accountable and empower women to not take BS they would have been subjected to if they were back home. It levels the playing field and unfortunately some men fall short.

Men take responsibility for your life and the state of your union and stop pointing fingers at your wife. If you stop trying to control women and treat them like actual partners with love, honor, and respect your case won’t end up in court. If you are doing this and your partner no gree, then just know you’re roommates and start working on your exit plan quietly. 😅

The problem is that most men especially those who brought their wives from Nigeria see themselves as a mini God, controlling every aspect of the lives of those women and when these women are tired of being pushed around and begin to react, then the men start crying oh I brought my wife from Nigeria she is doing this and doing that, forgetting they are the root cause of who they are getting from their wives.

Due to empowerment he has on me, if l go shopping getting home, he will ask me to put the items on the table for him to see. Any issues he will put me out in the cold, l got no friend, family abroad. Five years of abuse, l kept it within myself that one day when lm pregnant for him, he may change, because age gap, he senior me with 11 years, thinking he can be a father role, but l lied to myself. You see my love ones, what l understand after my bitter experience was that, Africas, we got good parental up bring, like me , lm the only girl and a brother, bought up from very very poor parent, so l was well trained, while growing up in Nigeria, when l saw the way my parent loved each other as poor as they are, that mentality with me was that, lm going to look for a man like my Dad like even prefer a poor man to start life with, but as life change, our thinking changed. I was comfortable in Nigeria when l rented my ex house, so his mum live with him here abroad, when they noticed how l maintain the house, then they wanted to met me, from there l met the guy, with the age gay, l thought he can be well mature, because l was young then, remember my thought, looking for a father figure. Now the life in abroad are not design from our culture where we came from, trust me, no matter who or your up bringing, if you get to abroad, one thing or the other, system or ways of life will change you and the way you behave. Abroad is not design for our ways of morality, loving and kind nature that we grow to understand back home, so sad from the victims, is not easy, but keep strong. My advised to victim like me, be strong, pick up the pieces and have hope in God, because when there is life there is hope, if l have dead in hand of this guy, l would not be advising someone today. Not all men are this bad, and not all women are bad, we are just victim of circumstances, that is life.

9:35 The man made a great point. The reason people stay in relationships in Nigeria is because of their dependence on finance (to get their financial needs met). If there were an enabling environment for people (particularly women) to earn a comfortable living for themselves they will not to be in relationships. Almost all the women enter relationships to be dependent on the men. That is why when they go abroad and become financialy independent they discard their men and begin to say, "I don't need a man."

African women abroad are hardworking and very objective. If she's down for you, she's real. Their love is real cuz most of them have their own or are at least able to afford their own. So for a woman to throw a man out especially husband/father to her kids, alot must have really gone down. In Africa most women stick to men and tolerate their excess toxicity because they are entirely dependent on them, which makes it difficult to tell if these category of women ever truly love the men or just with them for survival. With a little exposure, you see their true personalities. So the problem isn't the women abroad or the law or money or whatever. The major problem is the partriachal mindset of african men. Instead of being a partner, they rather exercise Authority, superiority, abuse n all those terrible things they mastered from their fathers. It's a different ballgame here people.

I don’t blame the women, all the blame goes to those men that choose to go back to Nigeria to bring a wife. Sometimes some of those men don’t even know anything about the woman they married. As for me I completely refused to marry a Nigeria woman I know nothing about.peace of mind is very important to me.

You mean have struggle love like bm in america? They can't try the rubbish you do to your women to Nigerian women because culturally no woman would con sider him. Our fathers live and participate in our lives. They won't entertain any pookyish behavior towards their daughter. I forgot your individualized community will look the other way, but our community will deal with the man and his family. So please go sit down with your struggle

I got married to my late husband and we stayed together and I took care of him very well, I can share with you what I did for him till he passed away, someone that had 100% dementia could not remember his name , but remember my name, I bath , fed him and cut all his hair. I have a lot to tell our women in abroad.

I agree with the other guy, I’ve dealt with Nigerian men and they have this African mentality and expect it to work here. You hear the other one saying the women don’t use the “ child support for the kids, they use it on their small small boyfriend “ 🤣😂 I agree some of the women don’t use child support for the kids, doesn’t mean it’s being used on other men if you’re on CHILD support what most people don’t say, you can contest the child support in court! A lot of these Africans, especially Nigerian men are stuck with their tribalism mentality, they’ll keep complaining about their women until they change. Living in the WESTERN society is not for the WEAK!

This guy’s story just be like replica of mine. But in my own case, God saved me. I found an American woman who advised me through all those foolish havoc my Nigerian Ex. planned to wreck on me. I have since married the American, and have researched all these laws since then. My conclusion is that they are fair, despite the child support that I have faithfully and consistently paid. I wish I was on this podcast, to advise that first speaker, how he shouldn’t loose his whole house’s equity.

As I am talking to you now, 3 Nigerian men have been chased out of their homes in my community in Canada. If you see these Nigerian women doing this thing, you would think they can't kill a fly. They always wait when houses have been bought, and the men have enough money to pay child support.
