Double-shot ABS shine much like the painted ones, if a little slower. The reason for this is that the combination of friction and your natural skin oils actually work to slightly erode and smooth the plastic itself. PBT is much more resistant to both abrasion from your skin, and its oils.

I would recommend trying a set of GMK or JTK caps (Doubleshot ABS), might give you a different perspective on ABS but the price point is what throws alot of people. Also the YMDK's are a knock off cap set but if you have a look you're trying to go with and can't find the GMK set for a good price then they work. Good content man

Most people who shit on ABS have never used a quality set. PBT has come a long way but you can't beat GMK

Just to let you know, abs is much easier to mold compared to pbt because it does not warp nearly as much. Even non uv-coated abs caps do shine, such as high quality gmk keycaps. It's just the nature of abs. Doubleshotting is also easier on abs.

Tai-Hao does make the rubberised caps in the 42 key packs. It covers all the alphabet, the num keys and the arrows. I know as I just bought the kit.. lol

ABS caps aren't painted. Not sure where you got that idea. The plastic is dyed with pigments, the oils on your fingers as well as the friction cause the shine. It's nothing to do with paint, everything to do with the specific plastic. Honestly, I'm just trying to find any source for what you said. I'm genuinely curious where you got that from.

Hey, idk if you'll see this feed back but here it is anyways. Your production quality and video editing are top notch. The b-roll and video transitions are done sharp and professionally. Even the music mixing is great, subbed for sure! The only criticism I have is that during the switch sound test section, the microphone was picking up the vibrations through the table. You might need a shock mount and/or a mic arm to prevent this, or a mic stand that's isolated from the table vibrations. Overall great video!

I find it kind of funny that readability is an issue for keycaps when now it's actually in vogue to have blank keycaps, the justification being that we already memorized all the keys anyway so minimalism in the form of blank keycaps can actually look sleeker and cooler.

I wasn't expecting much from this video but wow, it was informative and really well edited. I've recently bought the apex pro and am looking for a new set of keycaps, after watching this video I'm still not sure, I'm leaning towards the HyperX as I've heard some of the thicker constructed keys can get stuck on the 8 and [ characters. If you end up reviewing even more keycaps at a later date that would be awesome. Great video.
