Canada has programs which lead to permanent residence, and those that don't. If you are on the latter, you go home, - glad you enjoyed your visit, BYE!
@msbebelle072 ай бұрын
This is mathematic, if you allow more people to come in, you have to prepare housing and affordable small rentals (/for 1 and for 2 people) to be able to shelter everyone and with this you need to open clinics with more doctors and nurses, and more schools, also facilitate and help companies to come and do business here….but they didn’t do it…so to many people for the capacity of absorption…that made the crisis we are in….we are not in 1920, in life now it is: Build it and they will come….not the other way around. Canada is a winter country we can’t let people live outdoors like some countries do….if we don’t do something many will die frozen….Politicians have no long term vision and don’t care about real people problems. Shame on them, they failed all of us, Canadians and immigrants. 😤😡

Many whose visa is up (student, temporary, visitor) will no longer be able to extend their stay and cannot convert to permanent resident. They don’t learn your Filipino language, so have respect at the workplace and be more inclusive. Perhaps the Philippine Embassy or consulate office should help those Filipinos who want to return to the Philippines with resources like plane tickets so they can leave as early as possible.

The 100000s of foreign “students “ are a much bigger problem. Here is how to quickly ease pressure on the housing market: send all foreign students and TWs home, prohibit airbnb in metro areas, and make room for the Canadians. This situation has gotten totally out of control.

@@carolzippel5021 it worked before that influx of illegals and semi-illegals. and it will work again. The point is not the universities. There is NOT ENOUGH housing for all those millions of people. Housing prices need to come down for Canadians. You cannot take in millions of people without having enough housing in place. The cost of a single family home or the rental price of an apartment are UNAFFORDABLE for Canadians. Greed is the reason Canadians cannot afford to live in their own country, speculation in real estate drove up housing prices at a time when we were recovering from a major pandemic that caused so many small businesses to close indefinitely. Upper pay scale management has been awarding themselves massive increases in annual salaries' at the expense of the blue collar workers! Getting a 30% annual pay increase was almost common of CEO's, while after layoffs blue collar workers were being laid off and those lucky enough to still have a job received increases in the neighborhood of 3%! I expect to see unions striking en mass this year and likely for several years into the future fighting to regain a decent living. The ones it has really hurt badly are the Seniors on fixed incomes who never had a company pension plan, yet they kept small businesses serving Canadians earning menial incomes compared to larger companies who offered multiple pension and matching fund benefits to their employees.

The issue of high unemployment, too many international students, and competition for jobs can be easily solved, as long as the Canadian government has the courage to implement a policy: International students should not be allowed to work during the school term, except for holidays, and during holidays, they should be limited to working no more than 20 hours per week. This would immediately resolve the problem. The key lies in whether the Canadian government truly intends to solve the issue or is merely engaging in political posturing!
