When a woman is financially independent and takes care of herself they exude a confidence that men find irresistible. They give off a vibe of self love, the opposite of needy.. ladies it's mandatory that you love yourself first and become completely self-sufficient

Absolutely. Is it wise to be financially dependent on a man? It puts him in the position to be in control and dictate to every penny you spend. To be under his thumb. Sharing finances in a relationship are an equal partnership. . No relationship is financially equal. Are they a spender or a saver. Can they maintain themselves financially? Many people live beyond their means. True fact money is no guarantee of happiness. You can be with someone with money, and be miserable. Must be financially responsible, self sufficient with the ability to maintain themselves. No matter what their finances are.

I see things from another perspective. If a man takes "positive ownership" of his loved ones, he takes pride in being a good and generous steward of his family. My grandmother never worked a day in her life for wages, however as a colonel's wife, she worked her butt off for her family and to scaffold his career from the social perspective. They were deeply in love, and he left her in a very generous financial position when he passed. Up until then, every night after dinner, this SAC air base commander helped her with the dishes, then turn up the hi fi and close dance with her. This left a huge impression on me, and this is my magnetic north. She had a contract offer with a Hollywood studio (we still have the telegram), which she had the *ability* to be financially independent, and he had to work his butt off to win her.

@sherriflemming3218 Not every man who is the sole provider keeps her under his thumb. A good man gets a sense of pride from being a good provider, but being self-sacrificing rather than dictatorial. The negatives are a projection of your (or others' which you've heard secondhand) emotional baggage/residue and are not the rule.

@@elizabethf8078 Hi Elizabeth, I've mostly seen examples of what I've mentioned. Also I'm a boomer. I grew up in the generation where there was mostly dictorial males in marriages. And a landside of divorced single mothers in the 1970s. I guess what you say must exist.

Yes, we do give our power away because we were taught to do this - men usually call the shots in relationships. I feel like this still happens. My ex was a high-powered attorney and he said everything revolves around him.

@babydillkincaud. You are spot on. Never give your power away to placate a man. No one is responsible for our happiness but us. If you depend on a man's affection to make you happy, you're setting yourself up for a downfall. This works the other way around as well. Women give way too much and oftentimes get the short stick in the end anyway! Love yourself and know your worth and God's love for each of us ❤️

If you can't wait a couple hours for a text you're too neurotic and/or damaged to date someone in my opinion. Just had a guy block me because I read his intro message on the dating site late at night and planned to answer the next day but was blocked. People have lives, get a grip! This childish emotional behavior is common on dating sites but I realize he did me a favor by not wasting time engaging him.
@badabing-g4g

Then there was another guy who sent me texts the first day all night while I was asleep saying my name over and over, how he hoped I was his soulmate and then the next day we exchanged brief texts and I went to shower, he called me 3 times and left crazy messages (I can't remember what they said, this was months ago, before I took a break from dating site nonsense) but basically expected me to have psychic powers that he was gonna call and also for me to be at his beck and call. So odd to flip out like that over literally nothing

I deleted his messages and reported his profile to Hinge. Some people are truly insane and should not be dating.

I have been down that road before where I have depended on a man for my happiness and it was devastating because he seduced me and made me believe that he was the most honest, nicest, perfect, and loving man. I trusted him with my life. When I found out he was living a double life and seeing other women. I just couldn’t believe it. For some reason I end up attracting to men that are addicted to not getting caught doing this. Even though I believe these men truly loved me in their heart as much as they had the ability to love anyone above themselves, they just really enjoyed the attention they got from other women and just couldn’t resist the fun of not getting caught. But my gut instinct has never failed me. NEVER! NOT ONCE!!!!! Eventually they have all come back and finally admitted what they denied and denied and denied while saying I was crazy. So go with your instinct.

It's Sat. 10.7.23. What you were saying about self control and discipline is so true. Modern dating has discouraged that, and lends to impulsive actions. Then people end up romantically connected and bonded to mere strangers with probable little to no congruent goals, disposition, lifestyle, empathetic nature. The users know how to spot the givers from great distance. They breadcrum; only giving the bare minimium to keep the other hooked. In the end...both are disenchanted and suffer that injury or perhaps victory; depending on which side of the fence. Really tough to be suddenly cast into the discard pile

Having the boundary, I have of being a high value woman, and dating a high value man I find it highly attractive that a man would not live with me until we were married. I am looking for an above average person in every way. I also choose to not be afraid to state that when I date, I have found that it does not turn away men… At least not the ones I would be interested in.

I got a question. I've always wondered about this throughout the years. I went to a college that only had 3 females and the rest were males. I had a blast. It was the best college experience i ever had. Then i went to a college that had only 3 males and the rest were females. I had a miserable experience. What a bummer. The differences were remarkable. Women are catty. I'm sure some men can be that way too. But i find men much easier to relate to than women. I can be straight up with men but women are different. They gossip and back stab. That says something about myself but many other women feel the same way i do, that it's easier to relate to a man than a woman. Could you explain why that is?

The lust or limerance in the beginning is so powerful and yummy that we don’t want to let that go. And again, it’s a wonderful thing to have that person to be with and it’s all very hard to just give up, so ppl hope (?) it gets better or turns around, and we stay, feelings get invested, and we get stuck.

People who care, help their friends with blind spots. It bothers me that some women are hyper-competitive, jealous, selfish or afraid of losing their " girl-friends" time and attention, therefore might sabotage a potential love story. Yeah, gotta use care picking female friends. Had a boyfriend with a female " best friend". She made sure to stay at the top of his priority list. She had him available to do " projects" for her at the drop of a hat

Sarcasm comes from the Greek language which means " The tearing of flesh". I am a bit of a sensitive hot-head when people approach me with sarcasm. I bite back hard! It can cause dissention if not worked out. Best for people to take 10 deep breaths, or re-visit disagreement later before opening that hole under the nose. When wounded, It doesn't go well when waiting for the proverbial next shoe to drop. So sarcasm can take a razor shark bite out of hope. I find that to be a weak spot for me; Often based on accumulating frustration or unresolved irritation.

I say yes...I just gave 5 love languages to mine and he said we wont read. then they started to go out on dates more often!! I think the younger generations can use all the help we can give them I babysit of course for my grandson and encourage them to be expressive. They both talk to me in private which then I can help them....If they didnt want me to meddle...or said anything to that tune, then I would not. it is not meddling if done in a loving manner!!
