it takes some research but there are definitely some dance schools that offer adult begginers ballet classes as well as other styles of dance. Some schools have more kids classes offered with one or two recreational adult classes and some dance schools are completely adult based. I think it really depends on the area your from and the location as it depends what schools are in that area. I also find bigger cities tend to be more likely to have more options in terms of schools. Where I am from in Western Mass, there is a school completely for adults with begginer contemporary and ballet classes offered and then other schools in the area have more kids classes with one or two adult begginers classes. Also, there is some schools that are just ballet based vs a school that has other styles available too. Really depends what your looking for, but look at me I'm 25 and I am just getting started in dance now, i danced very little in my life, 16 looks good compared to that. I shouldn't compare because anybody of any age can dance if you have that dream and goal, but i think at 16 your in a great place if your motivated and you have a lot of resources at your disposal :)

I believe the "coupe" exercise you showed is correctly termed cou de pieds. I believe that coupe is a step where one foot replaces the other, commonly done to the cou de pieds position, hence the confusion often times. Unless maybe you're in a different system from what I'm used to, with different terminology.

Hi!! I’m flirting with the idea of jumping into ballet as an adult and was so happy to have found your videos! Question: How many times should I do a video before moving on the the next one?
@walking_pinay Жыл бұрын
I'm practicing the videos, though I'm just about 2 months into this and not continuous because I sprained my ankle recently, and I only did up to half of this video as of now. My opinion on your question is that you should move forward with another exercise if you feel that your body is already adjusting to the movements, e.g. I was always falling off balance in the plié exercise, so I practiced that one a lot before I moved on to tendu.

I have doubt please do answer. Is it normal for you to feel a little hard to point your toes after finishing feet exercises. Like i can still do it but after the exercise it takes more force is that normal? I am a beginner and your lessons are really helpful.
@gitasong2 жыл бұрын
Yes!! It takes years to build up all the tiny little intrinsic muscles of the feet. Muscle fatigue is a real thing when you're new. Just take it slow, take breaks and rest, and gradually, over time, you'll feel those muscles strengthening.
