The fully ceramic bearings caught fire when Hambini put a blow torch to them . I didn’t know ceramic could catch fire and disintegrate.

Excellent analysis. I would feel the same way. I have heard/read many bad things about this overpriced cage. You did the right thing with the Kogel. Ride careful out there. Too many people playing on their phones. Much respect!!

i never noticed the openess of the wheel and yea i can see how the chain with less tension could pop off and it would prob happen again.

I have the the same cage on my madone with etap. My chain hasn’t popped off, but it was very loose compared to my ceramic speed ospw on my other bikes. What I did was I took 2 links out and it was a much more secure fit and feeling.

Have you thought about checking your chain length? Like if there might be too many links on your chain with this cage? To me it looks a little too long. But no way to be certain as I can not see how the derailleur looks when the chain is in the biggest chainrings both front and rear...

I checked the chain length. When comparing cages, the Hollow & the Kogel, the Kogel has better positioned tension holes to increase the chains tension. Hollow cage has two and the Kogel has three. My gear setup specifically (54/42 11/34) I cannot run a chain *too short. #RobbArmstrong

I noticed in the intro of this video that you have a purple Hope rotor on your front wheel on your OSTRO VAM. Do you recommend it, and does it work as good as Dura-Ace? I was thinking about getting it as an alternative to Carbon-Ti rotors since they are sold out everywhere.

I will make some Video’s on rotors in the near future. Do you have a specific reason why you want Carbon-Ti Rotors? Pure aesthetics or weight? Because weight wise, I have an alternative. I’ve been running the Hope rotors more so for aesthetics. Performance over DuraAce I don’t see any difference. #RobbArmstrong

A video on rotors would be great! I was going to match the Carbon-Ti rotors up with my Carbon-Ti front chainrings. Mainly for aesthetics and exclusivity since not many people have them on their bike. Weight savings is another reason I'm interested. Tadej Pogačar was using the rotors and chainrings on his Colnago V4RS at last year's Tour, and that caused a HUGE spike in popularity and demand. But, I really like the "bling" and all the different color options on the Hopes. Would love to hear about another lightweight alternative.

The Carbon-Ti chainrings look dope but that do not preform well at all! I ran them last year and got rid of them. Best shifting chainrings on the market is DuraAce hands down. There are lighter options out there but shift quality alone I always stick with DuraAce. #RobbArmstrong

Thanks for the valuable feedback about the chainrings. I recently bought them and have not mounted them yet. I should probably return them now for a refund and just stick with my DuraAce.

You can try them and see how you like them. I’ve had conversations with other folks who’ve owned them and they all agree about the shifting, ☹️ it’s like I have to be *mindful when I shift with the Carbon-Ti. I have run a bunch of different ChainRings over the years: 105, Ultegra, DuraAce, Carbon-Ti, Absolute Black, and Rotor but I always come back to DuraAce. Even my trainer bike that forever lives on the Wahoo Kickr and never see’s the road, has DuraAce chainrings on it, 🤦🏽‍♂️ it’s that much better IMO. #RobbArmstrong

Absolute Black as a company sucks. Their Hollow cage is one of the worst rip off components one can get for their bike. If you want it for looks only then fine but for anything else it's absolute shit.

Oh wow! 😮 Regarding the cage specifically, the aesthetics of it is 🔥 I can’t deny that. The brand as a whole I don’t feel any sort of way about it. In the past I tried their ChainRings as well but wasn’t impressed. IMO, Dura Ace makes the best shifting ChainRings on the market and it isn’t even close! #RobbArmstrong
