This is the first printing of this awesome absolute edition of The Dark Knight which collects both The Dark Knight Returns and The Dark Knight Strikes Again. The new 2020 printing is exactly identical to the 2006 printing which I show in this video.

That cover art was mimicked in Batman v Superman. I really love the art in this book, including the Dark Knight Strikes Again. I think it is misunderstood. I don’t think people understand how satirical it is. Which makes it hilarious. It’s over the top in a similar vain to Robert Zemeckis’s Beowulf. And for me it works. I had a blast reading it.

Hey Marcus, hope you are well man. I have been watching your videos on the TDKR comic releases and I wanted to ask for your advice. Which one out of the absolute, the deluxe edition with the movies, the single issues, or the 30th anniversary is the best option?

Absolute is best if you absolutely want it all including all the extras, otherwise the deluxe edition that includes TDKR and its sequel (actually I haven't reviewed it) is good value. The single issue collectors set is more a novelty item.
