Yeah, I agree on both the pages and your point about Scott. He's said before that he didn't necessarily feel done with Batman, and I wonder how he'll approach the character now, especially with this different origin.

It feels a very gritty and low-tech version of Batman. Like Marv from Sin City as Batman. I feel like we will get a few curveballs on what titles will be in Absolute. It might be Shazam or Blue Beetle.

It would be nice to get a curveball or two thrown at us yeah. Question is though, is DC thinking that the changes to its core characters are curveballs enough to play it more traditionally with the actual books and characters they choose?

I like that they tried something wildly different, but there is some stuff that will take some getting used to like the bat symbol and his thunder thighs lol. I don’t mind Snyder since he’s the only modern Batman writer that’s given us a modern classic villain with the court of owls, though I wish they put him on another book so he can give it the same treatment

@@TheComicsPals honestly, Wonder Woman would be my top pick, I haven’t enjoyed the more ‘realistic’ take on Wonder Woman and the Amazons lately, and I feel like Snyder’s style would lend itself well to a more fantastical and mythical Wonder Woman. I mean why have her hang out in our world with a bunch of boring humans when she has all of Olympus, Hades etc to explore. Or something wild like Etrigan or Martian Manhunter

Batman who ain’t rich kinda feels like he needs powers. Maybe some sort of artificial vampire powers like a toned down Kirk Langstrom. So he doesn’t need gadgets as much and can actually recover from beatings.

Ive always liked a more stylized version of batman and his rogues like tim sale drew them. With absolute if they make good enough stories it could be like ultimate spiderman where even STILL its a great jumping on point for new readers

Yeah it's very possible that this could hit like Ultimates has. Maybe even bigger since DC has never quite done this before.

Absolute has a strong creative rosters but the books they are going with which seems to be big 7 and one team book don’t excite ala the New Ultimate Lineup

I hope we go fairly far away from the mainline couterparts, like a gay batman, a kal el that is raised by his kryptonian parents and so he has accented English and he is truly an immigrant, that kind of thing

Midnighter exists. I don't think there'd be any narrative benefit to make Batman gay other than a gross relationship with joker. Your superman idea is really cool tho
