Hi everyone! I'm ahead of schedule for once... so I decided to make Super Roccia (and by make I mean I reskinned a game I made about 3 years ago lol). "we have s6 roccia at home" Anyways! Thought I would clear up some common questions: "So, is she just really mid?" Yes and no - while the max team DPS potential with her vs Sanhua is roughly similar, she provides larger AOE, and the grouping should prove super powerful - for the same reason that Jinhsi feels strong because of her ease of DPS & large AOE, the suction should really come in handy! "Roccia without sig or Sanhua?" They're roughly the same. "Why does the rotation part have Q on Forte as the button?" oops

So if I have 6+1 Camellya even a 2+1 Roccia would be same or barely better than 6+1 Sanhua? Since 6+1 Camellya does a much higher % of dps in team and needs a longer rotation and more on field time.

Ngl, I feel like most of her value comes from ease of use and CC she has. New set being so similiar in power, I guess at least it means that you don't have to feel worse for using one set over the other (and don't have to specifically farm the new one). Plus, it's actually quite nice to see that she's not a huge upgrade over Sanhua. Best they powercreep in check for as long as possible.

​@@gteix74 It is like buying two burgers from two different restaurants and use the same exact ingredients, one cost $3 and second looks prettier in decoration but cost $30, at the end of the day, they both taste exactly the same. No way a limited 5 star character should be on the same level as a 4 star character in performance because it is not cheap to get limited 5 star characters + their signature. Side grades are perfectly fine as long as it is between 5 stars characters but 5 stars should always perform better than 4 stars by a noticeable margin, just 1% better doesn't cut it. You are correct, it should not only be about damage but the damage should be 5 star level of performance.

The gameplay is totally different. I hope they start to powercreep every single char by a 10% margin due to these complains so we start complaining about that powercreep int he future like the competitiors. Remember that Sanhua is the best 4* in the game and a char that frees her to another team is a great value being a 4* or a 5* regardless.

Hi Maygi, Just wanted to mention, the Crit Rate -> ATK conversion buff only considers your crit rate the moment you press Ultimate. You can buff her with Shorekeeper's crit rate buff and still get max value with only 57.5% sheet Crit rate on Rococo

even though roccia looks to be a horizontal upgrade, i'm going to give credit to kuro for managing powercreep very well (unlike hoyo). improvements are made in minor increments so for most players, they can skip without the game punishing them for not having latest meta - i.e. less FOMO and pull for characters you like. That being said, they might add 10 dogs running around in ToA boss fight which will make you pull your hair out without roccia.

The suction would be useful if Camellya didn't have any suction herself, but her spin attack gathers small enemies anyways so it's a minor improvement. I think F2P pullers can hold off.

Roccia's skill suction is far bigger and stronger which is very easy to access via quickswap, and while Camella can AoE, it does have a windup which her tool can be utilized during that windup to ensure mobs stay in place after Roccia's skill swoops them up in a way Camellya can't compete with. I understand people wanting to cope about whom they skip, but I can say with confidence that Roccia has made my Camellya team do more dmg, deal with mobs way easier, and smooths out the rotation by quite a bit. It's a stark enough difference that I don't see myself ever using Sanhua with Camellya again, making her dedicated to my Encore team instead. With that said, I would say her priority would be after securing your other teams if you still don't have 3 for ToA. This is a nice upgrade for Camellya's team, but it's not more important than actually completing three teams first.

Yep Roccia is perfect for Rover Havoc. Camellya have a big AoE attack for mob. While Rover need that Roccia's Tornado. And Havoc+Basic attack buff is perfect since R.Havoc have a good chunk of their damage on Ulti,Echo, Skill.

thanks for your time and effort! the math goblin strikes again. I remember looking at her numbers and thinking, they did everything to make her an ideal buffer for camillya except make the buffs last long enough to matter. I suspected between the 14 second buff period, and the longer field time she needed, that sanhua would end up being as good if not better option for camillya. sadly i was right. they should have made her buff good enough you could take SK off camillya's team. that alone would have made her worthwhile to pull.

2:00 I honestly value this more. In my experience when fighting trash mob in Wuwa they always scattered all over the places. Could be because they got knockback or their attack pattern/behavior. While of course I can adjust my position, sometimes I just don't want to minmax my position espescially on daily basis farming on domain or tacet fields. Anyway, thank for the guide Maygi!

@ you’re fine to value that more. But the video itself and the discussion around the character is regarding the meta and the math behind it. I don’t want her to be insanely busted compared to sanuha but, Kuro didn’t do a great job in making her. While the most common and true advice is to pull who you like it’s also true that as a f2p to low spender you need to plan your pulls accordingly. So in that vain the meta matters because if you only pull bad characters you will have a harder time getting new characters along with just not having as much fun. So if a limited unit is only marginal better at high investment over a free character it’s going to suck balls regardless of the potential QOL. This is without going into the fact that she really is only a viable sub dps to one other character which is havoc rover, which to be fair she is a solid upgrade in dps and qol for him in particular.

@@dragondude1012 I agree that everyone needs to plan their pulls. But what matter it's not always about meta or the math. Currently the only content where meta shines is just ToA which reset once in two weeks. Even then we dont need full meta team to max crest it. What thing that also matter is how we're doing our daily stuff and exploration. This is where meta doesnt matter and having QoL matters, making it less boring and tedious. We are doing dailies and exploration more than ToA. So having characters that gives QoL for our routines isn't going to suck balls. Fun is subjective. If your fun is getting all the meta characters, big dps, and max crest fast clear in ToA so be it. My fun is having balance in meta and dailies/exploration. When I said her being sub dps and providing off-field CC means she can be useful almost anywhere, it means literally anywhere any team doesn't need to be Havoc. What makes Sanhua is good as sub dps, in any team regardless of the element, is her concerto gain is really fast for quick rotation as well as providing Moonlit+Heron buff despite her outro buffing NA which is not always useful for everyone. Roccia isn't as fast as Sanhua in concerto department but once she outro she can proc her off-field CC and the rest are the same as Sanhua (Moonlit+Heron buff and outro buff which is not always useful for everyone). I clear ToA using Sanhua-Calcharo in the past and Sanhua-Carlotta in recent ToA. Sanhua's NA buff adds nothing to them but it's still works well. So, Roccia only viable only for Camellya and Havoc Rover isn't right to me.

The tone you're describing the gap between these two sets sounds way more dire than a 0.5% difference, also considering that I mostly would get Roccia due to convenience and grouping potential I feel her ability to quickly take out packs of enemies (without ultimate) on her own in the open world or when farming dungeons/tacet fields should be a consideration here, and while I don't have the numbers required to do this I would assume at a glance that midnight veil would be better at it.

Yup, unfortunately it's as I expected, if the resident Math Fairy confirms things. A few weeks before 2.0, back when I was wondering about how Amplification works, I did some testing and calculations. Relying on that, the moment we got info Roccia is a Havoc/Basic buffer, I checked how much of an upgrade she is over Sanhua. *Literally, only an average of 9.8 percent* (or between 8%-11.6%). S0 Camellya, based on damage breakdowns (including Maygi's), does about 85% Havoc and Basic damage, and about 15% just Havoc. S0 Camy with Roccia's Outro will deal exactly 8%(5.07%+3%) more damage than Camellya with Sanhua's Outro. Prydwen suggests the damage breakdown to instead be 67% and 33%, which would increase the Outro buff to 11.6% more damage for Camy. Though I don't really believe Prydwen's calculation, based on personal experience. At the lowest, I'd put it to be around 80/20 split (9% buff), with all Traces maxed and with Red Spring. The 0.07%, if we want to be pedantic, is more than offset by S6 Sanhua granting Camellya exactly 207 flat Attack to her final Atk value, while Roccia with 70+% Crit Rate grants exactly 200. Furthermore, this damage falls further in value if your Camellya is S2. Sure, an average of 10% more damage is nice, but is it worth pulling for a 5 Star character? Roccia's primary advantage over Sanhua is her personal damage, which will be much higher than Sanhua's, thus increasing your total team DPS by... I'm guessing about 5-10% of Camellya's damage, per rota? Probably more, depending on investment. Unfortunately, she pretty much requires her signature weapon and significant investment into Echoes and skills for her damage to be meaningful. I'd expect her to be doing somewhat similar damage to Zhezhi or Yinlin, except more frontloaded instead of what damage they deal on-field and off-field. Either way, she requires a lot of investment to be better than Sanhua to an extent of actually pulling for her, paradoxically. To get meaningful damage out of her, you need Roccia with her signature weapon, because it was designed to work only for her, while simultaneously Roccia's kit is very specific so that it only really benefits from her signature weapon. On the other hand, to get good buffs out of her, you need to get her S2, which will give you a lot of Havoc damage buffing. Unfortunately, she's very much not worth it for almost everyone. Only worth it for whale minmaxers or those who really love Roccia and want to max her on at least S0R1.

Honestly, when using Roccia S6R1 with Camellya S0R1, Camellya should be used as sub dps, or swap with Mortefi for higher team dps. Roccia C6R1 is as strong as other dps at S6R1, so there's no point to use Camellya S0 over her.

Midnight Veil works really well for Danjin S6 sub buffer, and while the Nightmare Heron echo didn't have any team buffing abilities, It provides a nice bonus to the overall Outro Damage output for Danjin topped with MV's Outro dmg. The same can also be applied to Lorelei with Roccia, which serves as nice Outro damage output bonus. Think like how Dreamless echo works, you press the echo key and then immediately swap to your main dps for the finishing.

I notice in the DPS calculations in your spreadsheet that you do her linear full rotation without swaps. I happened upon another CC (dunno if it's kosher to name them here) who was theorycrafting some crazy quickswap-heavy setups in their Camellya team rotation to reduce her dedicated field time to 2.2 seconds (obviously incredibly sweaty, IIRC involved doing part of Camellya's bud-building rotation during quickswaps so it wouldn't be buffed by Roccia's outro). Have you done much investigation into that?

The current rotation is at a flat 25 seconds - while you could do a bit of interweaving between the Shorekeeper/Roccia segment, you can trade a bit of Roccia's damage to save few seconds - but, for what? Shorekeeper's Liberation is on a 25 second cooldown, so you'd have dead time that you'd need to fill with *something*, at which point, you might as well have that increased Roccia damage and call it a day. Also on the subject of a double Intro rotation, there are definitely perks for it - namely, it's a lot more consistent, as with a single Camellya Intro rota, the 14s Outro buff will wear out during the final single attack of Camellya's budding phase in an ideal rotation - it does do more damage overall, but a lot more can be lost in the case of any interruptions.

As sad as it is, I'm also assured in a way because this just means that powercreep is not a trend for Kuro. The things sub-dpss provide leans more on convenience and practicality. I honestly can't wrap my head around it. Permanent free 4* vs event limited 5*, but then again, what Roccia provide is universal and she does it quite exceptionally.

Initially I've planned to pull every character in WuWa but I think Roccia will be the first one that I will skip. When it comes to damage I can imagine that she will be buffed in future by specific havoc support so maybe I'll get her in some rerun. For now Sanhua with new skin gonna be Camellya's best friend :)

Maybe they could buff the veil set to help her power level.. it seems like the set needs slightly higher numbers

I have been so lucky with my pulls, that i have a surplus of asterites. The one thing i like about wuwa is that they make me want to pull characters because i like them not because of their kits. I'm gonna pull her despite her not really being that BIS for camellya. Ill use her with danjin or rover

Hi Maygi, Thanks for the video, the set comparison was mildly disappointing to see but it is what it is. Do you have any thoughts on Roccia when using the no-intro rotation for Camellya, assuming the calcs were for the standard intro rotation? With Roccia being so reliant on her intro skill->basic 4 to build up forte, does the extra time it takes to do the extra 2 basic strings make a significant difference to overall dps? Is it still recommended to do the no-intro rotation overall for Camellya? Also, how impactful would her S1 be in a no-intro rotation, does the extra concerto/forte it grants allow you to skip the full basic4 rotation? Thanks!

im a little dissappointed roccia can barely outperform s6 sanhua, i wasnt planning on pulling for her in the first place but man, i feel bad for the roccia wanters a little bit.

damn, just the guide I was looking for.. its sad that her buffs isn't that much compared to Sanhua. plus, Sanhua gets a skin which makes people wanna use her. I was really hoping the difference would be atleast 5%+. Damn, I really wanted to pull for her and skip Phoebe, but it looks like I'm doing the opposite.

Pulled her cause I could and hate using sanhua. She fun to play and can group enemies, that's all I need.

Roccia seems neat. Unfortunately, she is sandwiched between banners of more hyped characters like Carlotta and Brant. And that S6 Danjin pretty much serves the same purpose if used as a sub DPS for Rover Havoc/Camellya. Also agree on the Midnight Veil set. It's an easy skip to build if people have a decent Moonlit Clouds set. Unless you want a second sub DPS echo set specifically for Havoc

got jinhsi weapon and had very little left for roccia, but she came home on the pull 22 and winning the 5050, lets go! and while she performing similar to sanhua, wish it were a lot better, but well now at least i can use sanhua with carlotta and not leave camellya coping with danjin supp xd

Welcome back !! Encore works pretty well with her, as she buffs Basic Attack damage, and Encore typically has trouble with AOE that Roccia helps quite a bit with :3

I had made up my mind anyways that i won't be pulling for her. This video only confirmed my belief much more. A "FREE" day 5th log-in 4⭐ from 1.0 is still pulling ahead of a tailor made "limited" 5⭐ sub-dps in 2.0. This video is a great way to show such ppl who were literally justifying this character & her weapon release by mind-bending to certain degrees , just how dumb-founded they are & how wrong they were. I hope 🤞 Brant doesn't end up this way & he will be a great sub-dps.
